I'm sorry to point this out, but if it's a Codex chapter then there are no tactical squads in the first company. Perhaps it's the first squad of one of companies 2-7?

It's not an "I" as in the letter, it's the roman numeral, he's a member of the 1st company. In any case it's too late to change it. you've got good eyes(i thought it was a bullet hole!)

Er, Arabic?
On the SM logo (should this be moved to a seperate thread?): I'm just offering one small opinion... can we do something without skulls? Everything and it's granny in the 40K universe is covered in images of skulls. It gets a bit tired.
Last I heard there was discussion about a Russian/Siberian theme for the Frost... thingies. Is that still being pursued?

This thread is getting kind of Off-topic, but.... Very nice work, Rogue Trader! Looks great! On the subject of the 1st company... There are veteran tactical squads in the 1st company, not just Terminator squads. That's why we have Veteran Squads as an Elites choice for Codex: SM If this really was a Veteran SM though, the symbol on his left shoulderpad would be something like the symbol on the things hanging from his utility belt (are those shell casings?). A cross similar to the Terminator honours is usually the symbol for the 1st company. Arabic letters... when we don't draw any inspiration from the Arabic culture, I don't see why this would be appropriate. On the chapter logo, I think it's cool! Sure, it would be nice to have something super-original, but the name Frost has its limitations in imagery, and IMO snow crystals aren't very intimidating.

That's one lovely pic, Rogue Trader. As for the crest, maybe drop the halberds totally? A motto, Crescit in adversis virtus! Meaning; Virtue is born in hardship!

"On the subject of the 1st company... There are veteran tactical squads in the 1st company, not just Terminator squads. That's why we have Veteran Squads as an Elites choice for Codex: SM" That's why they're known technicaly as Veteran Squads, see? As in "Not Tactical Squads". ;D

Yes, Northern European folklore still assumed to be the main source. And if anyone needs specific info on Siberia, I could easily look-up Russian language part if I get specific queries from you

Well, I seem to set of a discussion here so maybe we ought to start another thread on the Frostbringers/Frost Wraiths(my personal favourite) imagery... BTW the logo is just a fanged skull eating a half moon, it's all I could come up with without making it unpaintable...

I guess that you may try to make detailed sign for Frostbringers and then, when we will be ready, I hope to invite professional miniature painter and make decals for Chapter… it is just 10 dollars or so. But we need all fluff/artwork for Chapter done before that time, so the painter would be hooked (and does it for free )

Compared to... a big, white, upside-down-omega U? A fair point, I suppose. But that's pretty much the exception to the rule. Sorta. I don't mean to be rude, but... what's so funny? "On the subject of the 1st company... There are veteran tactical squads in the 1st company, not just Terminator squads. That's why we have Veteran Squads as an Elites choice for Codex: SM" That's why they're known technicaly as Veteran Squads, see? I just wrote that so you would understand, since you'd obviously forgotten about them OK, seems my last post was killed by non-pacified machine spirit, so I repeat. Yes, Northern European folklore still assumed to be the main source. And if anyone needs specific info on Siberia, I could easily look-up Russian language part if I get specific queries from you I thought we were basing them on the bad guys in northern mythology... hmmm... couldn't find any interesting imagery in from other northern cultures. Well, I seem to set of a discussion here so maybe we ought to start another thread on the Frostbringers/Frost Wraiths(my personal favourite) imagery... Too late, I'm afraid Btw, if you have a personal favourite, go vote in the Imperium forum BTW the logo is just a fanged skull eating a half moon, it's all I could come up with without making it unpaintable... I think it's a good suggestion, actually. If I ever do paint up a few Frost Wraiths, I don't want to spend hours fiddling with their logo. If people want extra detail, such as typical nordic patterns or whatever, there's always ways of including this by giving the simple shapes a texture or something.

I just wrote that so you would understand, since you'd obviously forgotten about them I am the master of Marine organisational nitpicks. I managed to piss off GW Edinburgh by doing a critique o their army (If you're going to paint them as Ultramarines, you'd better get it RIGHT). ;D

I don't mean to be rude, but... what's so funny? By sheer conicidence, blue and white (Frost-marines colours) with snowflakes....
