"Cool! Would it be possible to increase the wingspan and decrease the length and thickness of the legs?"
And, of course, the small detail of the other head...

Scetches of the Anargo crest are up on the Portent Artwork thread. Since we can't upload pictures to this forum, I suggest that crest-related pictures are uploaded to this thread. As for the discussion itself, I guess we could do that on either forum. The Mods might be pissed off about discussing this stuff on Portent though...

Apologies for the long delay in getting onwith this, but in between illness, work, and other projects I've been very busy lately. I removed the legs alltogether, they made the crest look too busy. I wasn't sure what to put on the scroll, I decided 'Pax Imperius' is generic enough until we decide on a proper motto. The spears turned out more like halberds, and I need to fiddle with the line thickness on them, but there they are. The Shield needs to be filled in with other imagery too, but that can be designed later. I want to get the frame right first... Anyway, hope you enjoy, constructive criticism welcome.

My initial response would be to say that it's good... Then it would be to ask whether others felt that lengthening the halberds and putting them as a backdrop would be better? Kage

I'm voting for the larger halberds as a background also.
The motto... I don't know.

Important detail: One of the heads of the Imperial Eagle is blind, representing the Astropaths.

Looks good, though I agree with Kage on the Halberds About the motto, how about "In hoc signo vinces" (In this sign you will conquer), "Nil Sine Numine" (Nothing without the Diety) or "Ad Astra Per Aspera" (To the stars through difficulties)? I suspect one of us artists is going to have to do the finished version, right?

Yeah, that would be good. Of course, Zark's version is good, but an artist could make it a lot more "realistic", in terms of making it look like a real crest.

Well, I'm itching to get at the crest so if we could decide on the motto I could draw up some sketches and we could decide wich is best. BTW I've come up with a badge for the Frostbringers, but I've been away so long I don't know if one was already chosen, if anybody could help me out on that I'd be grateful.

I have to admit that to my shame I missed that thread, so my points are more or less general. Here are they: - Many medieval crests had the crown or helm on the top, giving the title of owner. I guess old long nose Alpha Legionaries helm could be nice touch, as the imperials don’t know about traitors much.
- About adding planet/sub-sectors symbols – I don’t think this is right way to go. instead we may use ‘large’ crest with all the sub-sectors crests as it was done by many empires at the end of 19th century at least.
- We should take the idea of crest from our general/Admiral Anargo sign, after all he is official founder of sector.
