Yes yes I should post more, but Im working on my exams at the moment, so I dont have that much time to write lots of stuff but here you go That's quite alright, it's just that with the typical one-line posts, we're just left going "Yeees? Could you tell use more, so we have something to work with?" Index Xenos: Hunter (a better name please) Try looking through names from mythology, gods of hunting or war or games. The "hunters" are collectors of other species, they capture their prey and have it on display in their ships or send it to their homeworld. To make money by selling them back home, I assume? Sold as slaves for gladiator games or something? Homeworld: the planet could be seen as one big giant port, the entire surface is covered with workshops, rapair bays, storage units, docks. The hunter ships land there and either put their preys for display to show off or try to sell them for better equipment. If these aliens only have this one world, I suppose their homeworld should also have a lot of mining and agricultural facilities, and a large supply of water... Weaponry: The hunters have an advanced plasma technology, their weapons shoot out some sort of plasmabolts, easily penetrating the targets armour, very effective against light armour. The hunter encountered by Imperial forces were all armed with these kind of weapons, while other's carried exotic looking close combat weapons, poisoned blades, paralyzing the prey but not killing it. Basically low-powered plasma guns then? These guys must have a pretty advanced technology, if they can mass-produce weapons that are considered priceless relics in the Imperium... Do they have warp drives? Psykers? Navigators, or equivalent? Prey Species: since the hunters never travel with large fleets or armies the imperium hasnt really recorded many of their encounters, calling them attacks from a "minor" and "insignificant xenos threat" You can be sure that the Imperium would be most likely to exterminate these aliens if they had the opportunity. The Imperium is generally very xenophobic, and after millennia of war with the orks, I don't suspect that the Anargo sector would be very different. Unless this race has just been discovered, and the Imperium hasn't had time to deal with them yet (because of a waaagh! or something), they would probably already be at war with the Imperium, I think. And especially if there are records of hostile encounters! however, there are rumors that these hunters are now looking for a new kind of prey...the Space Marine, no marine has even been captured or killed by them, they havent encountered marines that much, but slowly te encounters between the space marines and the hunters are increasing, not big scale attacks, but more small raids, as if they we're testing what these space marines can do and how they fight. Why do you figure this? Relationships with other races: The hunters view all other races as inferior preys, even chaos, there are stories of hunters trying to capture deamons and enslave them, lets pray that these stories arent true... Should be interesting ;D Anyway, this looks like a potentially interesting race, Malika! They just might be right for the 'other subsector' or something, where they could get away with preying on lost human empires.

I liked that idea...maybe have some marine slaves to their collection
yes the strong speciments would be sold as gladiators or slaves, but rare and beautiful ones would be display items...kinda like a museum full of preserved corpses of different kinds of creatures from all over the universe.
there are records of encounters with the imperium, but the imperium doesnt know they are all of the same kind, the encounters, since they all have been so minor and so spread away, the imperium beliefs that they would be more different kinds of xenos, and they dont know muchof them...well actually they dont know a thing.
hmm I like the idea of an individual hunter sneaking into a hive city, trying to capture some prey, kinda like Predator 2 ;D (maybe for a small piece of fiction)
I dont know about that one yet, I like the idea that they are kinda abusing the astronomicon (the prey is usefull for something) and have their own navigator kinda thing, or some computer that functions as a navigator

The home world is like I said one big giant space port, thousands of ships surround the planet, there are many ships that are used as shops, museums (to show off prey), and there are larger ships which are used as arenes in which prey species fight each other, but on many occasions hunters fought in the arena, to settle a bet, to defend his honour, a punishment for failure.
The ships they use are cloaked but lightly armoured, but they are fast, faster than imperial ships, but slower than eldar. Weapons used on ship: standard weapon batteries, but also some kind of pulse weapon which disables all systems on the targeted ship (maybe an electro magnetic pulse), the hunters are also known for teleporting gas bombs in the enemy ships, the gas paralyzes the troops on the ship. So far this gas has been usefull against humans, tau, eldar and hrud only, orks seem to get even more agressive from it.

The entire planet is some sort of hive/space port, nobody lives there, everybody lives on the ships/space stations which are all in orbit, or flying around in space, looking for prey.
Nutritions are produced at some of the space stations...
The planet has the size of a small star almost so it would have lots of space station surrounding it and lots of ships, from space the planet is hardly visable because of all the ships and stations which are in orbit.
Minerals are taken from the planet itself, as is the fuel used to power all thir tech, nutricions however are produced in orbit however.
Hunters: They are large humanoid creatures, their bodies can hardly be seen because of the armour they are wearing, it is noticable however that they do have some sort of mutations on the parts of the body that could be seen. (imagine the Borg queen, the exposed flesh part of her, well something like that, but the armour is bigger and meaner) The armour itself looks like a mixture between DE and Ork tech almost, brute but sleek and sinister at the same time, inside the arm piece are the weapons, they come out of the arm. Mysterious is still that these weapons are too big to fit in the arm, if the creature's arm is there too, it looks as if they dont have arms. By autopsy however it became clear that their armour almost works like a dreadnought, an injured creature in placed in it and he controls the armour, as soon as the creature is connected to its armour, they become unseperable, unless extreme force is used (cutters to cut open the armour). The creature itself is a freakish thing, it doesnt have limbs, just a head and a small piece of torso, and all of it seems to be covered by tumors and mutations. Inside the body are many bionical implants which are to connect the creature to its armour or just to keep it alive. The creature inside the armour is very weak, on the autopsy table it had to be frozen, without its armour it seemed as if it was slowly melting, the creature turned into some very soft mass, cutters werent needed to open in, you could take it apart as if it was an orange.
The armour itself is very powerfull, one arm could lift up 250 kilos with ease, eventhough its so very strong and powerfull its also very fast, its faster than a space marine, almost as fast as an eldar. Furthermore, the armour (like their ships) seems to have some sort of cloaking device into it, the entire armour can be cloaked if wanted. However the cloaking device can easily be disabled or even destroyed if it reaches a too high temperature (its very fragile against flamers, plasma weaponry) The armour itself will remain intact but the cloaking device would become useless.

Erm, is it just me or do they sound just a tad on the powerful side? Oh, just a smidge ;D As long as he has a good explanation for it though, it shouldn't be a problem. Will be difficult though, I imagine. yes the strong speciments would be sold as gladiators or slaves, but rare and beautiful ones would be display items...kinda like a museum full of preserved corpses of different kinds of creatures from all over the universe. If the entire race is off looking for new prisoners, why bother with all the museums? There's no one left behind to visit them! there are records of encounters with the imperium, but the imperium doesnt know they are all of the same kind, the encounters, since they all have been so minor and so spread away, the imperium beliefs that they would be more different kinds of xenos, and they dont know muchof them...well actually they dont know a thing. Then I assume the race has just recently made contact with the Imperium. The Imperium isn't full of idiots, and with enough such hostile encounters, it wouldn't be long before they knew what they were dealing with. Especially when these aliens have such unique technology. hmm I like the idea of an individual hunter sneaking into a hive city, trying to capture some prey, kinda like Predator 2 ;D (maybe for a small piece of fiction) Yep, that might be cool. I dont know about that one yet, I like the idea that they are kinda abusing the astronomicon (the prey is usefull for something) and have their own navigator kinda thing, or some computer that functions as a navigator A computer couldn't function as a navigator, but perhaps you could use a computer to make short, calculated warp jumps. GW isn't very clear about this. If the entire world is one big space port where everyone just unloads their prisoners and treasures, then I really don't see the point. You'll have thousands, if not millions of prisoners coming in every day. Who's going to bother watch all these gladiator games and museums? Who's paying for all these prisoners, who's buying them? Your idea doesn't really make sense on such a huge scale. And besides, with so many attacks on the Imperium, the orks, and other races, it would only be a matter of time before these aliens were mauled. Badly. I suggest that you try to make the race a bit less ambitious. It also sounds cooler to me, if the gladiator shows are watched by thousands and thousands of cheering aliens, and not just the children and old ladies who are left at home. The ships they use are cloaked but lightly armoured, but they are fast, faster than imperial ships, but slower than eldar. Cloaked how? Similar to Eldar holo-fields, or...? Weapons used on ship: standard weapon batteries, but also some kind of pulse weapon which disables all systems on the targeted ship (maybe an electro magnetic pulse), the hunters are also known for teleporting gas bombs in the enemy ships, the gas paralyzes the troops on the ship. They have teleporting technology? This is very, very advanced.... So far this gas has been usefull against humans, tau, eldar and hrud only, orks seem to get even more agressive from it. Uhm... why? Im thinking of calling them Kasachidur...guess what it means in Quechua (inca language) Erm... hunter? Nutritions are produced at some of the space stations... Wouldn't it be easier to produce it on the world itself? The planet has the size of a small star almost so it would have lots of space station surrounding it and lots of ships, from space the planet is hardly visable because of all the ships and stations which are in orbit. Erm... that's a lot of ships and space stations... Why is this done to all these aliens? Why not just give them powered armour? The creature inside the armour is very weak, on the autopsy table it had to be frozen, without its armour it seemed as if it was slowly melting, the creature turned into some very soft mass, cutters werent needed to open in, you could take it apart as if it was an orange. If these aliens are so physically weak, they must be truly ancient if they ever reached such a high level of technology by themselves. They obviously had to manage without these suits at some point, after all, so I guess they'd have to be many hundred thousand or even million years old... I think... The armour itself is very powerfull, one arm could lift up 250 kilos with ease, eventhough its so very strong and powerfull its also very fast, its faster than a space marine, almost as fast as an eldar. Again, sounds very, very advanced. Any idea why this race has more advanced technology than humans, orks, or even Eldar on some areas? Oh, and Malika, there's a fantastic button on the top of each post, next to the 'quote' button, that reads 'Modify'. If you press that, you can edit and add to your posts, instead of posting four times in a row......... just a friendly piece of advice

hmm maybe they are a bit too advanced...but I like the idea of them actually being very weak, hence the tumor and cancer theme, the home planet itself is radiated. Many of the hunters stay at their home world trying to find a way to cure their mutations (maybe this is a better reason for why they go on these hunts, to examine other species). uhm I will stick to the suits, but they will be less powerfull. So if many are on the planet and try to find a cure for their mutations, many of them also want to be enteratained, hence the arenas where prey species might fight with the hunters (kinda like a training) maybe weaker races (such as humans and tau) as personal slaves. The planet itself isnt suitable anymore for the production of nutricions, thats why they are produced in orbit. About the hunts: ok maybe it was a bit extreme, they just try to capture some of every species. may it be for research or for slaves. The cloak tech is very advanced, the race itself is pretty advanced, kinda imagine it with the fast evolution of the tau...but it is also kind of weak, if it overheats its destroyed. More soon but I have to go now the suit is also a life support system, the suit is now a part of them. the aliens poluted their planet in the past to such a degree that they all become mutated or get cancer. Their bodies start to die really quick, thats why they wear the suits, so they can live on and find a cure. yes Ive noticed that too, but I dont know how strong power armour is, ir will be a bit weaker than that (+4 save) and the limbs will be a bit weaker too, and it will be way slower, probably standard human speed or something

We're not ripping off Predator at all, are we...? That was kind of the point... After all they were raised in a thread that was discussing the potential of importing races from other sources into the Anargo sector. They would have to be changed, of course, but it might be an interesting and easy way to come up with a focus... Kage

Ok I think I should kinda work on the Kasachidur society, because now it seems as if they all are hunters. Many of them work as hunters, most of them are hunters. But there is also a huge group of scientists, trying to find a cure for their problem. The hire the hunters to find the requested species, so they can be examined.
Many of these hunters also hunt for their pleasure, keeping collectings of their prey (the ones they didnt had to sell or hand over to their employees).

hmm I dont know if I want to keep them as plasma weapons, maybe some sort of las tech, I mean their armour is covered with a small layer of light tech (cloaking device) maybe some sort of laser weapons, effective against light armour. They dont have any weaponry against heavy armour, that is maybe also the reason why they dont fight big wars, because they wont win them Hmm I tried to make a concept sketch of them, but I didnt like it, it looked too much like a space marine, I want the armour to look a bit like the Borg from Star trek The visible part of the body would be a bit like this: I dont want the head to look like that of course, I hate that part of Star Trek, the heads will be long (well not too long, just a bit longer than a human head) and it will have only 1 eye, in the centre. Most of these hunters will be wearing helmets, so you wont see the mouth And to add a bit of the hunter feel, many of them would carry tropheys, like the skin of some big dead animal over their shoulders, or on some sort of belt, lots of small decorations.

We're not ripping off Predator at all, are we...? Like the others said, 40k is all about rip-offs. It's part of its charm! hmm maybe they are a bit too advanced...but I like the idea of them actually being very weak, hence the tumor and cancer theme, the home planet itself is radiated. Many of the hunters stay at their home world trying to find a way to cure their mutations (maybe this is a better reason for why they go on these hunts, to examine other species). That does make it more interesting, yes. I know I'm repeating myself, but this tumor and cancer-thing would have started after these aliens achieved such a high level of technology. uhm I will stick to the suits, but they will be less powerfull. Less powerful how? About the hunts: ok maybe it was a bit extreme, they just try to capture some of every species. may it be for research or for slaves. I'm glad you've decided to tone things down a bit. The cloak tech is very advanced, the race itself is pretty advanced, kinda imagine it with the fast evolution of the tau...but it is also kind of weak, if it overheats its destroyed. That's cool. Yeah, there is the Tau- a younger race with more advanced technology than the Imperium (on some areas). But eventhough they have stealth armour, they don't have enough of it to give it to every Fire Warrior, much less the majority of their race. Anyway, I'm glad that you're toning things down a bit. yes Ive noticed that too, but I dont know how strong power armour is, ir will be a bit weaker than that (+4 save) and the limbs will be a bit weaker too, and it will be way slower, probably standard human speed or something Ah, in that case I have no complaint. Ok I think I should kinda work on the Kasachidur society, because now it seems as if they all are hunters. That would definitely make them more interesting, and be in keeping with what this project is about. Many of them work as hunters, most of them are hunters. But there is also a huge group of scientists, trying to find a cure for their problem. The hire the hunters to find the requested species, so they can be examined. If most of them are hunters, and there is a lot of them, then there will be either a lot of small attacks against the Imperium, or a few big ones. If there has been notable conflict between the Imperium and these aliens, there will be Navy battlegroups and Imperial Guard regiments looking for these aliens in time, leading to full war, and inevitably the destruction of this race. hmm I dont know if I want to keep them as plasma weapons, maybe some sort of las tech, I mean their armour is covered with a small layer of light tech (cloaking device) maybe some sort of laser weapons, effective against light armour. They dont have any weaponry against heavy armour, that is maybe also the reason why they dont fight big wars, because they wont win them For a race with so high technology, a lack of heavy weapons would be a matter of choice. Obviously, these guys would have the technology to make battle cannons and missile launchers, if not heavy energy weapons. Perhaps they prefer light weapons for the sake of the hunt, but this would be a matter of choice. And perhaps the reason they don't fight big wars is that they have a single world, whilst the orks and humans have... many. Oh, and Malika; remember that you can click Modify instead of double or triple posting Edit: Nice pictures. Maybe ask some of the artists if they can help you with a concept scetch?

I did edit one post, it it went wrong..I think its my pc or something or the server...nevermind The lack of heavy weapons is, these guys arent meant to fight wars, they dont want to, there is no pride or honour in war (they think) only in hunting. well the thing is that the imperium doesnt know where their homeworld is, most of the time they dont even know where these hunters come from (since their ships are cloaked). So information about them is very rare in the Imperium, there is some, but not many, they have a corpse or something at most. They will be an older race, probably pre imperium time Well they had good tech before they got the tumor and cancer thing, but after that happened tech went up rapily, they tried to find anything to keep themselves alive Well I was thinking for the heaviest thing in their armament would be some kind of walker, similar to the APU from Matrix 2 and 3 but then armed with las weapons (their weapons are made of light), the hunter would probably live in that suit, kinda like a how a standard hunter lives in his armour, so basicly its just a different kind of armour. There will be a few in each hunter warband (the hunters travel in warbands of 50 of something, 10% would be those heavy armour suits) The ships might have some special weapons, but most of their weapons are designed to stop and disable target ships, so the pods could be shot in the target ships) Pods: there are a few types of Pods, the first carries only 1 hunter and his supplies, the other type can carry up to 5 hunters and their equipment. The pods are shot into the enemy ship and the hunters come out and try to kill the crew or take prey or whatever they want, most of the time they also selfdestruct the ship, making the enemy think that their commarades have been destoyed by some powerfull fleet. Ships: The most common ship is the ship encountered are Frigate class ships, about the same size as the space marine frigates. They kinda look like this: only the surface would look a lot like the armour of the hunters. and the shape would be just a bit different. The cloaking ability makes the ship completely invisable, the cloaking system on the ships is a big stronger that the ones on the armour.
