Perhaps but CELS seems determined to include 'his favourite race' which I for one have no real problems with aslong as they don't dominate the subsector.

Yah, necron presence is cool..I like the idea of them getting a beating here, a ruined tomb world..the piramids with craters in them, broken necron bodies maybe? some pools or liquid living metal, for some reason it couldnt be used anymore, stull like that.
And then there are some necrons left in stasis, but the eldar dont want them to wake up, and tries to let them sleep for ever, so they try to prevent the imperium of getting to that tombworld

We've almost got a storyline for the campaign already ;D. If the colony world of Tir'asur is to be a 'watch station' what other structures aside from the 'typical colony structures' would be present?

a small dock to repair ships
meeting hall, somewhere where farseers could get together and have a meeting
defence structures? do the eldar use turrets?

defence structures? do the eldar use turrets? I assume so as the craftworlds are armed to the teeth with Laser lances etc, so I don't think it would be too far-fetched for the Eldar to possess turrets or AA Guns.

ok, I think the colony should kinda be a watch station, but it shouldnt be like it was in some sort of constant preparation for war

Perhaps but CELS seems determined to include 'his favourite race' which I for one have no real problems with aslong as they don't dominate the subsector. I know this is probably the wrong thread to discuss this point, but since this thread is already spammed (in my humble opinion), I might as well try to straighten things out. First of all, my favourite race in 40k is humans. I assume you're talking about the Aoideans, and if you really worry about them dominating the subsector, I can't imagine that you've read up on them. They're ghosts. I still haven't found out how they can influence the material realm, and I assume that if they can at all, it will only be minimally. Were you perhaps talking about Kage and the Eldar? If so, then you have also misunderstood. Kage has made it painfully clear that the Eldar will in no way dominate the subsector, and has turned down my many requests to see the Eldar engaged in war with the Imperium. The majority of Eldar in the sector will live in a corner of the subsector, and it seems that this colony will also live in hiding, but in the unexplored center. Or perhaps you were talking about ZoomDog, since the Necrons are his favourite race, and not mine. Actually, I believe ZoomDog just wanted a sleeping tombworld, and not some kind of imminent threat to the sector. The idea that the Necron threat might dominate the sector only came to life when people started trying to tie all the loose ends in the mysterious center together. Whatever you were trying to say, Farseer Kythil, I'm sure everyone agrees with you. The only race that will dominate the sector is that of humans. The orks will have a fair presence as well, and there will be some Eldar, Genestealers and sleeping Necrons lurking about. Don't worry

I apologise for my 'upfront' remarks but i've seen too many projects becoming stale because of obssession over one area (I'm guilty in that respect aswell).
To bring us back to the topic If Tir'asur is to become some sort of watch station would the weapons be operated automatically (controlled by Spirit Stones) or manually?

I like the idea of spirit stone controlled weapons systems, are the eldar capable of doing that?

Yes, nearly all Eldar systems are controlled by Spirit Stones from communication to the Eldar warcraft.

I like the idea of an array of Prism Cannons mounted on standing stones encircling the settlement.

Or even have the weapons hidden in the stones.
