Looking at the Eye of Terror poster that came with White Dwarf (the one with the map of the Cadian sector, the Sentinel worlds, and a bunch of subsectors, I've noticed that a few subsectors are almost empty or have only one Imperial world. We seem to have assumed that all subsectors have 6-10 systems, but now I'm not so sure.
Perhaps the Anargo sector needs some uninhabited subsector, perhaps we should decrease the number of systems in some of our established subsectors, and perhaps the 'other subsector' should be a small one, perhaps one that is just being colonised?

maybe a subsector that is all debris (sp?) from older wars, destroyed ships, space stations, roids...kinda a ship graveyard

For the sake of simplicity I think that is a good idea, CELS. It brings up the concept of colonisation which can only be a good thing... Any more ideas on this? Kage

Actually, I was hoping that you guys would come with ideas after I got the discussion going Malika, the ship graveyard thing is a very cool thing, but one which belongs in the Castellan subsector, if y'ask me. Unless of course you mean really old ships and space stations, in which case you're going to have to explain a thing or two. As for my idea, I'm thinking we should look at creating subsectors that are ork territory. Of course, Imperial intelligence on these areas would be scetchy, but they would have some idea at how big the orks were. One system, five, ten, twenty? Then there's the obvious idea of naming a subsector where traces of aliens have been found. The Necron tombworld, the dead Aoidean homeworld, etc Edit- Were you asking me for ideas about the colonisation? If so, I really didn't have anything in mind. PS: I'm a junior participant! Yaaay! Of course, I would have liked the title Project Manager to be shown in all threads, but there you go

The Orks already have a presence in the Anargo sector... Despite what people suggest, I really don't want them dominating everywhere. As to your title, CELS, in the "Forgeworld" you are the Project Manager. Elsewhere you're a participant! Time will tell about custom titles which apply across the boards... Kage

I do think Castellan should be the 'graveyard' area if we want one.
However, I think a combination of the other two ideas might be interesting for the 'other'...
That is, largely uninhabited with a massive colonisation drive going on, yet bad things tend to happen on a regular basis...
You know, warp monsters, Navigators bleeding from their eyes, that sort of thing. Maybe a sleeping mega-daemon imprisoned on a deep-space asteroid or something.

I don't remember anyone suggesting that the orks dominated everywhere.... but does anyone have an opinion on whether subsectors are groups of 6-10 Imperial worlds, or just a number of systems within a sector? In other words, would we follow GWs footsteps and use the term subsector for non-Imperial groups of systems as well? Edit- A sleeping megadaemon... What is a megadaemon? A great big daemon? I haven't heard of anything like that, except in one of the Titan comic books, but that was as lame as.... lame. And obviously, it couldn't exist in the material realm for long periods of time, since daemons don't do that. Especially not the big, big ones, I imagine. Much that needs explaining. As for my title, Kage, that's fine. For now, I'm content that I outrank anyone else that doesn't have a custom title

Apologies. I mean an *extremely* powerful daemon prince or greater daemon, like Amnaich in some blurb...somewhere.
Anyway, he's imprisoned somewhere or other due to the impossibility of banishing such a powerful creature.

My take on this - one 3-planet orky system and some small bands + rogue planets... I don't quite understand how this answers my question, but... ... is this your suggestion for the 'other subsector'? Would you like to explain the thought behind your suggestion?

If the 'other sub-sector' contains Orks, then we're going to need more fortress worlds to contain them. Personally I'm against this, leave the Orks to their already established area of space. As to the Megademon, I don't think the 'too powerful to be banished' idea fits into the 40k universe. Demons need energy to remain in the Materium, so just locking it up would eventually banish it.

Instead of bringing in the orks why not work off the 'colonisation' idea? One or two Imperial systems (and an unspecified number of worlds; possibly more development in one system than the other) which are historically tied to another subsector (probaby Anargo or Meksum, all things considered) and who are responsible for initial funding. A number of features would then be represented in this regard... This way one might consider this the most 'open' of subsectors for later development in terms of submissions... Kage

Sounds good to me. Also sounds like a good place to look for genestealer infestations and any minor alien races.
