hey, im new here so dont go mad if post in the wrong place. I was thinking of Maybe a Prison World, Forced Labour for people of the Hiveworlds. The Moon/Planet would be inhospitable ( due to imperial cleansing ) on the surface, so maybe 90% of the prison would under ground, leaving only a port above surface. Maybe found in an outlayin subsector or even on the fringe of the cursed subsector. In control would be a fascist military dictactorship, based partially on the death korps of Krieg. The planets called DAKAR. I will be writing Fluff, but i was hoping maybe someone could help with all the details.

You need a good reason for holding prisoners in such an expensive manner. Maybe they're mining labourers; you can't ship out prisoners at great expense with no return. Security isn't an issue, you can make any planet-based installation fully secure.

Yeah, there like Hive Gangers, Generally dangerous criminals, who shipped of world. To produce materials for the forgeworlds. Instead of being shot, also i was thinking maybe they where put there for certain scientific reasons like to see what would would happen to criminals in a controlled enviroment, and to put hope in those who have none as the local Government who send criminals here are showing nothing will ruin the peace.

Prison worlds are a part of 40k, whether you think they're unrealistic or not. Just like power armour Of course, since this project is all about making sense of the often dubious fluff, there's nothing wrong with trying to make some sense of this prison colony. Making it a mining world is an obvious and good way to go. I reckon it would still be dubbed a prison world, and part of the civilised class world group. It might not be as productive as other mining worlds, since you can't allow the prisoners as much freedom, or the same tools, but it would be cheaper. And as long as you've got millions of humans without any rights whatsoever, there's nothing wrong with doing some experiments. What kind of experiments exactly, is up for grabs... I for one don't think modern psychology/sociology experiments is the Imperium's alley. They would be interested in such subjects, but they probably already have five billion books on every area of the subject, dating many millennia back. (And even if they were interested in that, there's no reason they can't do it on populated worlds) As for Inquisitorial experiments, or experiments by the Imperial Guard, Officio Assassinorum, etc, I don't think they'd do that on a prison world.

Although it's not technically a part of the project at the moment, but perhaps you could consider setting the 'prison world' in one of the established systems of the Anargo sector? There might not be many, but they are out there and might provide the setting that you're after. While this was designed to be a part of the project later on, I'm sure that further fleshing out of a system isn't going to find disfavour with the system creator, although you might find the liberties that you can make to be a bit more restricted than creating a system yourself (and perhaps including a prison world into that system)...
