I know that you are trying to say that time and chaos are the same Philip, but could you please give some expample of how or why you beleive this to be so, rather than just repeating the same rhetoric?
What I said was;
The warp is change, time is change, they are one and the same yet different...
I'm saying time and chaos are linked in 40K, as in the fluff they mention time flows differently in the warp. I noticed it again in the novel 'Grey Knights'.
Perhaps my explanation was a bit short bit, so to expand further;
=No Time=Time allows things to happen. Without time there would be no changes in the universe and everything would be set in place, like a giant 'snapshot of the universe'. Without time the universe would be frozen in place.
=Apparent Chaos=As time advances thing start to happen, movement, chemical change, reactions etc. As so many things can happen in the universe at one time, and all these events can interacted with each other, it can
appear chaotic just because the systems are so very complex.
=True Chaos=However the true chaos in the system (factor X) it that some things are not predictable. Combine the unpredictable chaos with the 'apparent chaos' and you have real chaos.
The warp is where the laws of nature are mutable, and change. In the warp changes still happen because of the flow of time, but the amount of 'unpredictability' is variable.
=Apples=You completely lost me on your apple/ time example, but I'll clarify what would happen using this system.
Using this system on apples would mean that as time progresses so the bacteria can 'rot' the apple, if time flowed faster it would appear to rot quicker to someone observing from a slower time flow, if it flowed more slowly, it would appear to rot more slowly to someone observing from a faster flowing time.
=Chaos in the Warp=In the warp, the increased 'unpredictability' means some reactions may not occur and some may accelerate, and a whole range in between. It may be, that even with an increase in the flow of time the apple will not rot: as the chemical reactions are no longer working! By the same token, metal could rot, or metal and flesh combine, or anything. In the warp anything could happen because it has lost the bounds of our universe, in has no limited boundaries (more on that later, with Law)
=Time flow and unpredictability=As an add on, in my concept as time flows quicker, it also increases the 'unpredictability' of the universe. The faster the time, the more 'true chaos' is introduced into the system. This means in fast flowing time, things become very chaotic, as the complex system are made even more 'unpredictable'.
As time slows, the 'true chaos' subsides, and systems become far more predictable.
=Link=As true chaos increases with the increase of time flow, and chaos requires time to function in the first place, I surmised that there is a link.
=Gods of Law=In old Warhammer fluff the chaos God were opposed by the God of Law. In the realm of law, time stops, energy stops flowing and revert to matter and everything locks up. In this scenario the Warhammer universe in in between the two, a balance of both universes with both sets of Gods seeking to gain more control over the Warhammer universe.
The Gods of Law have been dumped, the fluff now seem to suggest two universes one heavy on the chaos the other heavy on the law (Law as described in the fluff on the 'Gods of Law').
