Well, I've stumbled on a problem. Namely, that at least one star system in the ASP is physically impossible given the statistics generated for it.
Specifically, the acceleration due to the star's gravity is approximately twice that of the circular motion system which the planet represents. This is plainly incorrect, assuming I've done my maths right, as they should be exactly the same.
Mathematically, for the UWP, GMs/r^2 != rw^2
where G=gravitational constant, Ms=mass of star, r=radius of orbit and w=angular speed.
Solutions?

None, other than change the information generated to somthing that obeys the laws of physics. Incedentally its not just the orbital bit that throws up problems. I would say use common sense when it comes to those things. I am not a scientist or a mathmatician so I wouldn't really know how to go about working it out, I just barely managed to grasp what you question was about.

It's a game system. If you can fix it validly, then do so. But when you stack it up against the 40k wargame... well, at least it has a better track record!

Right you are. I'lll probably move it further from the star, this also sorts out the fact that at 0.2AU I'm going to be fairly heavily bathed in radiation.
It'd be interesting to see whether other people have the same discrepancy or whether this is an isolated problem...

Fair enough. I'd rather we not concentrate on the times that things don't work.. There is far too much emphasis on that already, which when compared to what we're trying to produce is essentially minor.
Any abstraction will, at some point, break down. More so if you're knowledgeable about the given point that it breaks down.
