I was looking at the 'Temperature Worksheet' and the 'ASP Maps' and I was wondering if anyone mind would if I combined them to make a Temperature map?
This Temperature map would replace my Temperature Worksheet, and would be complimentary to my standard ASP Map.
The reason I asked is because I thought that my Hives may have a Temperature spike, likewise for the ship yards. I thought is would be easier to read and more interesting.
I was thinking of colour for various temperatures, or temp ranges and a key.
What do you think?

Sounds like a brilliant idea, and if people weren't upset about the amount of work required for an SR already, I'd ask everyone to make such a temperature map.
If you do go about making such a map, it would be nice if you made the 'template' as versatile as the one I made for the geographical version. In other words, it should preferably be a .gif, which can be opened in MS Paint, and edited with a few clicks. Please don't change the size or quality of the standard template, since that makes it useless as a template.
It would be great if you could make a template for the whole temperature scale, so instead of desert, jungle, ocean, ice, etc, you have 40-60 degrees celsius, 60-80, 80-100, and 100+. Perhaps the best thing would be if the scale went from less than -100 degrees celsius to 100+ degrees celsius?

If you fancy doing it, then yes. It will not, however, replace the temperature worksheet. That is a byproduct of the SR...

Just to clarify; I agree. I just thought it would be cool with a temperature map to compliment the temperature sheets.
Now, the question is; Which temperature values would you use for this map? Would you make one map for maximum temperatures and one map for minimum temperatures? Or just take the base surface temperature, throw in some hex modifiers and call it a day?

Ideally you would want a map that would show all of that, one that actually shows the temp variations throughout the year. I know that would help me visualize how a world goes from +100 in summer to -100 in winter

Base Line Map I was thinking of a 'base line map' with colours (Hues) to represent the average temperature of a hex. On the hex the temp range could be written, or on the key.
Specific I though it might be nice to have colour to represent a specific temp range, with precise values for each colour: Saturation 240, with Hue starting at 160 (blue) working up to 0 (red). Each hue value equals 5K, so 160 is absolute zero with 0 being 800K. This would put most worlds in the 'green' hues.
160- (Temp in K/5)=Hue. So 280K = 56, 160-56=104 (hue 104 is a green/ turquoise)
Variations Could condense the range to cover 'human tolerance', but a very hot world will be a solid block of red and cold world a solid block of blue.
Could have the range relative to a specific world, with blue being is coldest temp and red its highest.
Which do you prefer?
