I'm looking at changing Proteus' temperature sheet to match the special atmospheric condition (ellipsoid atmosphere). Right now, it seems that the north and south pole will be a few degrees celsius at the hottest summer days, and -256 degrees celsius at night. Or would that be -180? At any rate, it's going to be damn cold.
Would this make it totally unfeasible to have Forge Towers and the HQ of my Titan Legion on the poles? Is it going to be too damn cold?

First of all you are on the Forge world after all, so they could easily create good isolation. After all Earth got -60 degrees Celsius on the southern pole and people already know how to live there. Their greatest problems are isolation materials and lack of energy/fuel, with the latter being no problem for AM, so I guess they actually preferred this part because it is much easier to defend and they maybe like to use superconductors… read The Bleeding Chalice there is attack on AM info-world with is very cold storage, with liquid hydrogen and cooling fluid…

its actually better for tech to be run at low temps.... electricity moves faster the colder it gets....0 Kelvin and u get all sorts of weird and wonderful things happening that the tech heds would love....just dont go outside....

Thanks guys! By the way, is -180 celsius as cold as it gets? Or is there such a thing as -256 degrees celsius?

Temperature goes down to a possible -273(.25lalalalala....) centigrade. This is 0 Kelvin, absolute zero, so it is not possible to be colder than this.
And you don't want absolute zero to happen with your technology, no resistance means those electrons go wandering around doing whatever they like, fluids flow upwards, etc etc.

if ~-273 °C is absolute zero, I doubt any planet with an atmosphere would be anywhere close to that. Please recall that Nitrogen (N2, 78% of Terran air) liquifies at -196 °C, Oxygen (O2, 20% of Terrain air) liquifies at -182 °C, and that the Gas Giants in our system are actually *hotter* than Terra due to their large atmospheres. Handy reference guide ganked using google (Kelvin = Celsius - 273°, so that absolute zero is 0K and the freezing point of water is 273K): The Titans should have no problems operating in extreme cold. To quote Hereticus (he was talking about magnetics, but extreme environmental conditions is a subset of "Hell" imo ):
