Bearing in mind that this is a concept I wrote out not specifically for the Project; Here's a world in need of a good home.
I haven't yet been able to make sense of the UWP statistics given, and I get the idea that there are more yet to be posted, so can someone help me out in finding a sector?
Here's the blurb.

Here's the blurb.
Physical and geological characteristics
X orbits the O-class star Trireme Apollo at a mean distance of 1.2 AU in a highly erratic orbit which passes intermittently through the orbit of the small planetoid Trireme Apollo III. X features a cold, barren and inhospitable surface of ice-rock tundra, theorised to have been deposited by a large asteroid impact at some time in the world’s distant past. The planet features no liquid oceanic bodies. Above the planet-wide sheath of ice rise large mountain ranges, of a very different mineral composition to the glacial plates. These appear to be the only surface remnant of the planet’s natural bedrock, however, many of them appear to be inactive volcanoes, the composition of the planet’s magma resulting in a practically solid mass occupying the batholiths under each large mountain.
Deep inside many of the mountains are large numbers of interconnecting caves, inside which lie thermal boreholes and springs which emit either hot volcanic gas, or vigorously boiling water. In any case, the vast majority of the non-inhabited caverns on the planet are highly inhospitable places, thick with scalding steam and sulphurous vapours.
Political status
The ice plate has been found to contain a fairly high content of valuable minerals; metals such as nickel and platinum, fluorite, apatite and ilmenite. In the developed areas, massive gas-fired harvesting machines grind through the tundra, crushing through the conglomerate materials to process the valuable minerals within.
This large base of mining industry causes X to be loosely classified by the Administratum as a mining world, though its tithes are the barest fraction of most worlds of its class. X is a prosperous world, its exports of minerals to the Forgeworlds and manufacturing bases of the Anargo sector are plentiful to sustain its modest population in a relatively luxurious lifestyle in the cavern-cities.
Population
X has a census record of approximately 600 million citizens, over 95% of whom live in the many mountain caverns which offer a warm, sheltered climate for development once tamed. The remainder live in scattered strongholds on the surface, tending to the mining leviathans and prospecting for new wealth.
The capital city of X goes by the title of Cavernum Castus, housing in the region of 10 million citizens in the vast caves deep under the Lepistes mountain range, at approximately 30 degrees of longitude.
The Cavern Cities
X’s few major population centres are largely situated inside the vast cave systems underlying the world’s mountain ranges; drawing warmth and power from boreholes sunk down into the volcanic batholiths. Most cities run extensive thermal hydroculture tanks to produce foodstuffs, and many are equipped with massive light-producing force domes on the high cavern ceilings. These domes function on a similar principle to the energy conversion systems used in personal force-fields across the Imperium, although these versions are finely tuned with concentric frequency layers to produce a suitable spectrum of light for use as a daylight substitute.
Governmental Structure
Each cavern city on x is ruled over by a compact, efficient council of governing officials referred to as a Forum, each of which in turn is accountable to the seat of government at Cavernum Castus, the Nomarchy. The Nomarchy consists of Imperial Commander of X; a primary council of City Wardens of indeterminate number, and a Rear House Peerage of two hundred and twelve elected minor representatives of worker’s unions, administrative departments and major noble houses.
The Inferatum
Across the Trireme system are scattered a number of small identical satellites of indeterminate function, each possesses a large radio detector dish of ancient design yet are all completely inactive and as yet, the Adeptus Mechanicus has been unable to elicit any response from the devices. However, some Techno-Magi have expressed their interest in the precise arrangement of the satellites, one positioned at each Lagrange point in the inner spheres, each with several booms or masts extended to a distance which correlates directly to their position in the system. There is rampant speculation about the precise purpose of the satellite array, but it is generally agreed that the array is some sort of sensing or communication device. Only a single word has been deciphered from the inscriptions on the satellites, ‘Inferatum’, a word with multiple connotations in the Lingua Technis relating to speculation or hypothesis, although without a context to the script its precise meaning is impossible to determine.
The Planetary Defence Force
X, despite its relatively small size, maintains a substantial and well-equipped standing army, numbering in the region of two million personnel. The defence regiments are separated into three major operational groups, those trained in ice warfare, those trained in cave and tunnel combat, and those special forces units which receive extensive training in both environments and others besides.
The surface regiments, or Ice Rangers as they are locally called, consist predominantly of air cavalry and mechanised infantry units, although combat IFV units are rare as armoured vehicles do not take well to the geography of X. Ice Ranger patrol units are documented as having used light-dispersing fields, similar in principle to the spectral domes installed in the cities, to mask their presence from enemy units. These devices generally are large, energy-hungry and unreliable, requiring vehicular transport and a team of experienced engineers, but their effectiveness in camouflaging military columns from air reconnaissance is well-renowned.
The tunnel fighting regiments, on the other hand, take the role of light foot infantry, being the only practical method of travel inside subterranean environments. X tunnel fighters are generally heavily armed and only loosely structured, trained to travel and fight without support via passages and potholes if necessary. Tunnel fighting regiments are generally equipped with respirators and light-enhancement goggles, and their support squads are allocated a large proportion of the few available plasma weapons in the arsenal.
Industry and Tithes
X economy is largely centred around the processing and export of metals and rare minerals for technological applications. X also, however, possesses extensive manufacturing capability for sophisticated optics and electronics. In particular, X is renowned for its expertise in the production of components for Matriculators and logic engines, utilising its own rich stocks of Silicon, Niobium, Gold and Platinum. Most of these items are exported to the nearby Forge World of xxxxxx, although some are transferred to the Adeptus Mechanicus facility deep in the south polar iceplate. The nature of what goes on at this facility is currently unknown; however, the Nomarchy is bound by ancient treaty to accommodate the wishes of the Adeptus Mechanicus in this regard.
