Another race..Unibians...
The Unibians are traders, they would trade everything with everyone in the galaxy, sometimes they even trade with the Imperium, but because of it's Xenophobic nature, the Unibians tend to avoid Imperial humans.
The employ many different aliens as mercenaries. These mercenaries protect the Unibian fleets, people and products. The Unibians tend to hire out these warriors as well from time to time.
HOMEWORLD:
The Unibians dont seem to have a homeworld, why this is so remains a mystery. There are stories that it has been destroyed by an ancient enemy, or that the Imperium conquered it and that the Unibnas fled...but none of these rumours can be confirmed.
The Unibians travel in fleets and have small bases all over the galaxy (hidden in asteroid fields or under protection of some alien race)
UNIBIAN-KASACHIDUR RELATIONSHIPS:
The Unibians seem to work a lot with certain warbands of the Kasachidur. This does not mean that all Kasachidur work with the Unibians. There is a number of warbands who travel with the Unibian fleets. Hiding from their enemies, or waiting for the time to strike at their prey.
The Unibians employ the Kasachidur as mercenaries, bodyguards and/or scouts...in return for this the Kasachidur have a home in the Unibian fleets/bases, and their ships and weapons are maintened/repaired/updated.
More information about the Kasachidur can be found here: kagemat.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=OtherRaces&action=display&thread=1078765669
Most mercenaries under the Unibians are the Kasachidur, the Kroot take a second place, many Kroot have been sighted along these Unibians.
UNIBIAN-KROOT RELATIONSHIPS:
The relationship between the Kroot and the Unibians is baicly the same as the relationship between the Unibians and the Kasachidur.
However, the Unibians trade with everybody, even Orks...for many Kroot this is something unacceptable.
Most of the Unibian captians know this and avoid trading with Orks when they have Kroot mercenaries on board.
There have been recordings of Unibian captians who did not know this. The results were horrible.
A Kroot Master Shaper serving an Unibian captian found out they were supplying weapons to the Orks in order to attack a small fleet of Kroot Warspheres. After he found this out, he ordered his troops to kill everyone on board the trade ship. Contact with that fleet has been lost ever since.
The Kroot Unibian relationships is less stable than the relationship with the Kasachidur, but the Kroot are fine warriors, so they continue to fight alongside the Unibians from time to time.
UNIBIAN-ELDAR RELATIONSHIPS:
Craft World Eldar:
The Craft World Eldar don't want anything to do with the Unibians, most of the time they leave them alone, or manipulate them into doing things.
There have been cases that a Kasachidur captured an eldar spirit-stone or other piece of technology or artifact, Eldar Waystones and Spiritstones are very precious and rare items for trade. Chaos Cults dedicated to Slaanesh are willing to pay everything in order to get one of such stones. There have been cases that an Eldar fleet retaliated against an Unibian fleet for stealing spiritstones...destroying the entire fleet, killing everybody (even non Unibians, women and children).
Dark Eldar:
The relationships between the Dark Eldar and the Unibians, if there is any is very unstable, some Dark Eldar work for the Unibians as mercenaries, but they are not to be trusted.
The Dark Eldar most of the time just attack Unibian fleets, stealing everything they've got.
Outcast/Exodite:
Some Outcasts and Exodites work along with the Unibians, some Maiden Worlds are supplied by the Unibians. They are the only Eldar who have some sort of stable relationship with the Unibians
TRADING:
The Unibians trade eveything with everyone.
However, due to xenophobic nature of the Imperium they tend to avoid the Imperium a lot.
In the Anargo Sector the Unibians mostly trade with the Orks, Anti Imperial-Cults (both Chaos and Genestealer) and the Kasachidur.
Slave Trade:
The Unibians have their alien allies attack lone bases and fleets by other species in order to get slaves for trading. Kasachidur and Orks always buy some slaves from the Unibians.
Dark Eldar sometimes also buy some slaves, but most of the time they just steal them.
Weapons Trade:
The Unibians are also weapons dealers. Most weapons are stolen from other races, and other they produce themselves, but those are rare and very expensive. They are also known to be selling weapons to both sides during a conflict.
An example of this is during a Tau-Ork conflict...on one hand the Unibians sold weapons, and supplied mercenaries for the Tau.
On the other hand they sold weapons, and raw materials to the Orks.
Drug trade:
The Unibians are also responsible for a large amount of the drug trade in the Anargo Sector. Supplying drugs to many of the gangs living in the Hive Cities in the Anargo Sector.
The Chaos Cults also are very willing to buy the drugs supplied by the Unibians. Unibian scientists trying to perfect the drug, so it would become more addictive and cheaper for them to produce in order to make more profit.
Maybe the Unibians could be the ones supplying the drugs to the Meksumians?

author=CELS]I was thinking about the Meksumians' rumoured drug-habits, and using the Chem-inhaler upgrade to represent this. I imagine the Meksumian drugs would be similar to the drug "Kalma" mentioned in C:IG, right? Calming effect to escape the horror of war, as opposed to 'slaught...
Maybe the Unibians could be the ones supplying the drugs to the Meksumians?
