Just a thought, but what do people think about 'importing' an alien race into the Anargo sector - well, technically into the 40k universe - from other game worlds or universes? They would have to be suitably changed, of course, but might provide a focus for an interesting race... Kage

Obviously, it depends on what race, and how you do it. I don't see Klingons or Wookies making an appearance in the sector. Aun'Aart'al (an ex-member of the project, it seems) wanted to have Dune sandworms, which was fair enough, if modified so that it wouldn't be a blatant rip-off.

well yah if we kinda recreate that concept, like CELS said, it would be really crappy to see Klingons here...

Well, it would obviously have to be something that is done appropriately... Just look at GW where Dune provides an obvious focus with such things as the Navigators, Saudakar, etc... In the same way I tend to incorporate the eldar into sci-fi games that I create for RPG purposes... ;D Kage

Uhm, yeah. I suggest you think of a more detailed concept, and get back to us

By 'detailed' I meant as in more than a one-line description....

I agree... let's try and shy away from those one-line posts if you could, malika. We've mentioned this before. Kage

Yes yes I should post more, but Im working on my exams at the moment, so I dont have that much time to write lots of stuff but here you go Index Xenos: Hunter (a better name please) They travel in small warbands, each warband in its own ship, they are all very independant, they might come together for great battles, but normally they fight on their own. The "hunters" are collectors of other species, they capture their prey and have it on display in their ships or send it to their homeworld. Homeworld: the planet could be seen as one big giant port, the entire surface is covered with workshops, rapair bays, storage units, docks. The hunter ships land there and either put their preys for display to show off or try to sell them for better equipment. Weaponry: The hunters have an advanced plasma technology, their weapons shoot out some sort of plasmabolts, easily penetrating the targets armour, very effective against light armour. The hunter encountered by Imperial forces were all armed with these kind of weapons, while other's carried exotic looking close combat weapons, poisoned blades, paralyzing the prey but not killing it. Prey Species: since the hunters never travel with large fleets or armies the imperium hasnt really recorded many of their encounters, calling them attacks from a "minor" and "insignificant xenos threat" however, there are rumors that these hunters are now looking for a new kind of prey...the Space Marine, no marine has even been captured or killed by them, they havent encountered marines that much, but slowly te encounters between the space marines and the hunters are increasing, not big scale attacks, but more small raids, as if they we're testing what these space marines can do and how they fight. Relationships with other races: The hunters view all other races as inferior preys, even chaos, there are stories of hunters trying to capture deamons and enslave them, lets pray that these stories arent true... The hunter have been seen fighting alongside Orks on minor occasions. Still no reasons what strategical use that would have, since they just travel somewhere else after the battle was over.

I like the idea of importing an idea for an alien race; maybe the Jawas could make an appearance in some form or other hint hint. Obviously the project leaders would decide what races that are suitable for import but it has potential. Perhaps ‘blending’ different alien types to create one race?

That's the kind of suggestion which, I'm afraid, is going to have to be backed up with an example. Go on Farseer Kythil, I know you want to do it... Kage

An idea, space is a hge place, there are asteroid belt and all that, maybe a good place for a pirate base...maybe eldar pirates or some multi-racial pirate band..I like that idea. Kinda a star wars Jabba the Hut kinda gang, some pirate lord (some fancy guy) with some powerfull body guards as command (maybe an ork as bodyguard, a rogue human as advisor)
Would that be cool, I mean for the 40k setting?
