Well, Necromunda is in the Segmentum Solar, right? It's pretty close anyway, I think. We're a lot closer to the homeworld of the Kroot (which isn't too far from T'au, right?) than Necromunda, so we ought to be fine.

Yep, Necromunda is in segmentum Solar... so that does mean Kroot can be around. Of course, that doesn't mean they have to be the focus of the story - whatever that might be - just that they are present. Kage

Before bringing in the kroot as major players, I'd find a map and check it. Kage, if you're having trouble finding a "high quality" map, email me or IM me and let me know your definition of "high quality". I have all the 2nd ed rulebooks, Dark Millenium, the 2nd ed Ork Codex, Gorkamorka, 3rd ed black book, 3rd ed Ork Codex, Codex Armageddon & almost all of the 40k novels published thus far. There's bound to be a map of the entire Imperium somewhere in one of those books, I just need to know exactly what you're looking for.
Back on topic: Kroot as major players would be extremely unlikely if the Anargo Sector is located outside their "Sphere of Influence" so to speak. While it may be true that they act as Mercenaries - and one was even found in the retinue of an Inquisitor on Necromunda - they would make themselves known on a very limited basis, and always with a larger force (their employer). Their influence as Kroot (culture/ambition wise) on the Sector as a whole would therefore be negligible - they would want to get paid and move on, they wouldn't take it upon themselves to settle a Planet, embark on conquests/trade/etc. However, their employer probably would. So while they bear mentioning (perhaps), their impact would be overshadowed by the impact of their employer.

Before bringing in the kroot as major players, I'd find a map and check it. Please note my previous post. The Kroot will never be a 'major player', nor even the focus of the 'story'. They might be there in a very limited sense, but nothing more. Kage, if you're having trouble finding a "high quality" map, email me or IM me and let me know your definition of "high quality". I have yet to see a decent map of the Imperium and the rest of the galaxy in any GW publications. Perhaps you can send some scans along of the 'best' that you have and go from there? Back on topic: Kroot as major players would be extremely unlikely if the Anargo Sector is located outside their "Sphere of Influence" so to speak. Again, they're not going to be 'major players'. Kage

Okies i have just been thinknig about the kroot recently, and i feel that although they have a minimal presence, maybe some more details on the use of Kroot as mercenaries, or actions against enemies that are using Kroot mercs, are required. Also, I do love the species, but I do feel that there is alot of hand waving about their biology and standing in the galaxy at large. All I can hope for is that we here are able to disucss their place in this great Sector, and put a little thought into what we envisage the krot to be . i do hope that i am not bringing up something that is best left dead, but i have recently had a rekindled interest in the Tau, and feel that looking at their erstwhile allies is a good way of expressing this, though as has been pointed out, they are in no way able to be any kind of big player in the area, and they most likely will not vene be all that apparent to anyone who has never come across them (so Inquisition and some IG veterans are the most likely to ever know about them).
