Just going to reconnect with the internal wargamer or are you getting back into the hobby (the miniatures not the fluff)?

Actually, it would have been to look at the books... it's the best place to get the BL novels (other than online of course) and perhaps have a look at this 'vaunted' 4E rulebook. If they actually keep copies that you can thumb through... It wouldn't be to get back into the hobby. After all, I 'complain' about the expense of the books. The miniatures themselves are even more expensive! (I still have to figure out how much to 'charge' a friend of mine for 37 Harlequins, 20-odd eldar, 10 Marines, 10 terminator Marines, etc.). And didn't manage to go yesterday so maybe today. And Glyph... this is "General Discussion, Chat and Comments". It's meant to be for general rambling, as well as when something isn't entirely OnT for ASP... Oh yes... and I'm allowed. ;D

Well, I went in with the intention of actually buying the 4E rulebook until I saw how much it cost... $60!! (Keyboard currently won't do the pound symbol, so halve it for the cost in pounds.) How ridiculously expensive is that!? Nope, definitely not worth the money... I was tempted by the Black Crusade book but, again, it was pretty but didn't seem to have that much going for it... <sigh> (And still not convinced of any changes to the Marines... )

Considering the fact that you've already seen and read most of the fluff in the rulebook ( ), I can see why you didn't want to spend £30 on it. After all, the book is about 40% rules, 50% pretty pictures, and 10% fluff. For me though, it was worth the money. The rules are well written (and a lot of exceptions and grey areas are accounted for) and there is lots of new and amazing artwork.

Guess I'm going to have to stick with the good will of people who are willing to send me excerpts... it's also doubtful that I'm going to be able to take the books with me anyway, so only electronic versions of books are portable... <sigh>
