Planet description:
Siccita has no water at all, the planet is one big desert. Magi Biologi of the Adeptus Mechanicus have found fossils of lifeforms which used to have existed on the planet, but they have been extinct for several million years.
On the northern pole of the planet is the only city of Siccita, it is also the planet's space port. It is a large hive tower as seen on other Imperial worlds, reaching in the clouds. The largest part of the population lives there, while smaller numbers are spread throughout the planet in the relatively small mining communities.
Government:
The planet is under control of an Imperial Governor. The Imperial Governor is always an officer of either the Imperial Guard or the Imperial Navy. This is something that happened after the Horus Heresy. When Siccita was liberated during the Great Crusade it came under control of a council consisting mostly of high placed members of the mining-companies present on the planet. During the Horus Heresy they sided with the Traitors, supplying raw materials and fuel to the Traitor forces. After the Heresy the Imperial Guard reconquered Siccita and a military officer was placed as governor of the planet. Since the liberation of Siccita there always has been a military officer as governor of this Imperial world.
After the Heresy all the companies on Siccita were destroyed, but a few years later new companies were created or came to Siccita. Officially the governor is the sole ruler of Siccita, however a council of prime members of the most influential companies was formed. The council functions as an advisory body, but it's political influence is powerful.
Religion:
Religion is viewed as something private on Siccita, there are however a few companies who try to enforce their workers to participate in large religious gatherings, but this has proven to be unsuccesful. There are small numbers of Preachers who travel across the planet, teaching the locals about the Imperial Creed. Most of these small groups travel along with the caravans which transport the resources all across the planet, but a few of them are wealthy enough to have their own means of transportation.
Society and law:
The governor is responsible for the legislation on Siccita, because of this the law on this world is very strict. There is no such thing as a civilian court, all criminals are dealt with through military courts which most of the time only know two kinds of punishment: execution or slavery.
On most parts of the planet there are hardly any recreational facilities, the companies might provide bars in some of the smaller communities, but most of these communities are forced to improvice these facilities for themselves. In the hive tower however things are different. Traders from many worlds come there so some of the companies have created recreational facilities to please their potential clients, however the locals are also allowed to use these facilities.
Technology:
The technology supplied by the companies is fairly advanced, the rich traders in the hive also have the luxury of advanced technology since they can afford it. Most of the population however are pretty low tech, people are forced into improvisation.
Trade and tithes:
Siccita exports large amounts of metals and oil to other worlds in the Meksum Sub Sector. There are very few factories present on the planet to produce other products (such as vehicles) for export.
Siccita is forced to import large amount of water to keep it's population alive and to keep everything going, water has become a rare and expensive product.
Physiology/Psychology:
Most of the population of Siccita originated from other worlds, hence there are many different kinds of people with many different ideas (as long as they are not heritical) on Siccita.
Language:
Since a large part of the population are originally from other worlds in the Meksum Sub Sector they all have different dialects of Low Gothic.
Planetary Defense Force:
The PDF of Siccita are all mounted in vehicles, most of these vehicles are civilian vehicles, but also some outdated vehicles from the Imperial Guard. The dropship is a relatively small transport vehicle which flies over the deserts, a popular vehicle used by the PDF officers and elites.
The companies also have their own security forces or hire mercenaries to protect them, the Siccitan government tolerates these mercenaries and private defense forces but keeps an everwatching eye on them to prevent potential heresy.
