By means of a quick introduction, it is my hope to produce detailed RPG statistics for the flagship of the Anargo sector classis militares (Military Fleet) using the rules presented in GURPS Vehicles and GURPS Compendium II (the first provides detailed rules, while the second provides information which might be valuable in comparing those rules with, say, Battle Fleet Gothic). Before this can take place, however, I'm going to need Minister to make an appearance... Kage

Well, we're going to have to wait until Minister gets around to seeing this so that we can begin to make inroads... One thing that is going to happen, however, is that we're going to be making some severe implications in terms of technology in the Imperium (i.e. representation of the drive technology, etc.). I don't think that is a bad thing, but there we go... In posting pictures, please make sure that they are small... Kage

lol! I dont know if I can make this picture of the ship a small ships picture its the "Retribution" picture I tried to use as Nyraddins (my systems) flag ship.... remember that one? the big ass ship you all shot down in like 1hr tops?

Yes, I gathered it was that ship. AFAIK, however, the flagship is not called the Retribution but rather the... erm... something else. Cannot find it on the original thread. When that information is available and we have size estimates, we can begin to work on basic 'armour', volume, etc., for the ship... Yay! Kage

Shamus, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Don't get me wrong, the picture looks very cool and its a nice conversion, but its just that it doesn't look like any other ship in the Imperial navy, and I believe our flagship was an Apocalypse or Retribution class battleship. And your ship is about double the size of that, IIRC.
And yeah, I guess we all shot it down, but it's not like it was anything personal. It just wasn't what we need.

With that said, does anyone have any more concrete statistics with regards to the flagship... Still cannot find anything on the original thread and am also waiting for Minister to make his presence known. Kage[/b[

well CELS, I guess Im getting used to being shot down shouldnt... but meh... and yes I would have to agree with you CELS, it is indeed a very nice conversion ;D but seriously though... wouldnt this Capital ship for the Anargo Sector have many MANY escorts? I mean dont get me wrong, the Flag ship of ANY armada is ALWAYS important.. but it always seems its only the light cruisers that are infront of the ship to "protect" the ship itself... so pathetic... get a Necron armada, and they would be eating the humans' flesh in no time if they ever wanted to...

We all get used to that, after working on a project such as this.
And as for Navy tactics... I doubt this is the right forum for that discussion, but I suppose it has something to do with the fact that all cruisers need escorts, so you can't just pile them in front of your flagship. Besides, attacking an Imperial battleship flanked by a squadron of light cruisers isn't an entirely pleasing idea for most enemies.
Kage, what kind of statistics are you looking for? I could try to find the BFG statistics to get an idea of how the ship compares to other ships (weapons, armour, etc), but I think the rest is up for grabs.

I could try to find the BFG statistics to get an idea of how the ship compares to other ships (weapons, armour, etc), but I think the rest is up for grabs. That would be a good place to start, yes. Take a look at the example of a civilian ship. That's what I want to produce for the flagship... While I'm using GURPS Vehicles for these designs, there is nothing to stop people from using other systems, even non-RPG related ones. However, it doesn't really take much to create something in a system such as BFG so going beyond that would be useful... ;D Kage

I is here! I is here!
Why are you so insistant on me, anyway?
Right, first things first is the choice of the flag. Now, there are three possibilities from the list:
Retribution: Master of the Stars (3023894.M37) [Commodore Maximilian Grovsner] Emperor: Xenocide (2001001.M38) [Commodore Quentin McAbe] Apocalypse: Deathwalker (1958603.M40) **
The Apocalypse is not my first choice, so we're down to the Emperor/Retribution.. The Emperor is, of course, a carrier-battleship rather than a dedicated gunboat like the Retribution.

Right. The Emperor also lacks the typical Imperial armoured prow, and has lots of antennae instead.
I vote for the Retribution as our flagship. I want a flagship with enough firepower to put the fear of God (or Emperor) into the enemy. It should be the pride of the fleet, and there should be sayings amongst the navy crew that speak volumes of its deadliness.
PS: What armament does the Apocalypse have?

Let's see if this coppies right...
IMPERIAL APOCALYPSE CLASS BATTLESHIP . . . . . . . . . . . . . 375 pts
TYPE/HITS SPEED TURNS SHIELDS ARMOR TURRETS Battleship/12 15cm 45 degrees 4 6+ front/5+ 4
ARMAMENT RANGE/SPEED FIREPOWER/STR FIRE ARC Port Lance Batteries 30cm 6 Left Starboard Lance Batteries 30cm 6 Right Prow Nova Cannon 30-150cm 1 Front Dorsal Weapons Battery 60cm 6 Left/Front/Right Notes: The Apocalypse-class Battleship cannot be given Come to New Heading special orders. If the Apocalypse is given Lock On special orders, it may increase the range of its Lances to 60cm for that shooting phase only. However, if this option is used the Apocalypse will suffer an immediate Thrusters critical hit as soon as the Lances are fired.
Anyway, the Master of the Stars it is. Besides that, the flag can shift over the course of the centuries anyway.
So, what did you need me for?

So, what did you need me for? We've done something similar. We tried to create RPG statistics for it. So, let's start with the basics. What is the best estimate of volume for the ship? Kage
