Paypal is pretty private, it's good for that.
I'll have a dig around the site and see what I can grab, more likely I'll just set up the CMS first and add get other people to help with updating info.
I can easily start with just a few fields of information for each planet, and add extra bits later (like the Standard Rep bits).

Paypal is pretty private, it's good for that. I'm more interested in there not being my name attached to the transfer. Old habits die hard! I'll have a dig around the site and see what I can grab, more likely I'll just set up the CMS first and add get other people to help with updating info. Before you do this I would appreciate you listing - here - what you intend to put up. That way I can take another look at the information and finally 'yay' or 'nay' it. There's probably nothing that needs to be accepted or not, I just like being careful.

Well, once the CMS is in place, it'd be more or less up to you what goes on the site I'm going to write up a specification for the data structure first, I'll try get it done soon (it'll be a lot easier now my home 'net connection is more stable)

I'm happy to throw in a few coins, though I hope you all appreciate that I am a student, and an exceptionally poor one at that, so it's not going to be a spectacular amount For the demo website, how about the Anargo and Tryphon systems, throw in the Eldar articles, Ork article, and maybe the Tryphon appendix. Appendices linked to specific worlds and systems should obviously be easy to find on the website. For example, when someone's browsing the Tryphon SR, it should be fantastically easy to spot the Tryphon appendix. Will there be a system where the most related articles will be easier to spot? For example, an article on the Ork empire or orks in general will be highly related to the Castellan worlds, but not so related to Meksum. So, if you're browsing the Massil SR, the ork articles would be pretty high up on the list of related articles. If you're browsing the Meksum SR, the ork articles would be much further down on the list of related articles. Erm... did you get the question?

The basic idea is that each article has links to other articles, systems, planets etc.
When a user goes to a system's page, they are presented with a list of related articles - basically, the script looks at the database and finds out what articles have links to the system.
Articles would have categories such as Historic, Military and so on, that would allow filtering.
However, you seem to be suggesting that each article has a relevancy to various links? This could be tricky to implement, and would probably use a lot more space in the database...

Yeah, I figured it would be difficult. Perhaps we should just be more strict when figuring out which articles and SRs are related then, so you don't end up with 500 articles related to Anargo.

With regards to the Anargo SR, I'm still of a mind to change the world to fit in with the desires of members to make the subsector more of an industrial power. I do not, however, think that this is a problem since it will esure that the mechanisms for making alterations to the page, etc., are in place. Hmmn... and perhaps we should standardise some 'keywords'...

Ok on request, this link is interesting, notably in the way they use to show the position of the stars and also the orbital paths of the stars. I dangle this as an aspirational thing, its not something I would expect to see implemented, it looks for to complex but its a direction, perhaps there is something in it that you might also want to see in/on anargo.
Ps no idea why it appeared the way it did in the other post, sorry bout that
