This is the thread where we shall put all the 'Thought of the day's that will appear on the website.
Three rules: 1) No GW 'thoughts'! We will not be using the 'in the times of insanity, look to a madman for leadership' for example. These 'thoughts' will all be intellectual property of the ASP.
2) Also, remember that this is 'Thought for the day', which means that it will be some semi-philosophical observation. " Die, chaos-whores", attributed Col. Dillweed is not a Thought for the day.
3) Number your contributions, so we'll know when we hit 366.
4) The 'Thought' must be shorter than a certain number of letters (suggestions?)

Bah, you beat me to it CELS, I was about to start a thread for this I don't reckon we need a character length maximum, it's easy enough to add scrolling text. Also, I don't think the 'Thought for the day' quotes in official GW ones are invlaid for this, I've seen them used on other websites without GW getting uppity. Still, it would be nice to have unique ones. Anyway, here's #1: "Alone, we are nothing. Together, everything."

Nice one.
Oh, well, let's just say 300 character length maximums. A Thought for the day should be short and neat, IMO.
And I know that we can use the ones by GW. I would just like to see some unique ones. If we can't for the life of us come up with 366 cool ones, we'll steal from GW.

2. The Emperor go between you and harm, In all the dark places where you must walk.
3. War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength.
4. No-one knows the shape of that future, or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.
5. The distinction between war and comerce is percived only by those who have no knowlege of either.
6. Victory is your goal. Claim it, make it yours and do not flinch to hold to it 'gainst all else.

" 2. And Marachius looked to the stars and spoke "I shall claim them. They shall feel the light of the Emperor once more". "
This is not a Thought for the Day, which I tried to illustrate with the quote by Col Dillweed.
I have taken the liberty of modifying your post to fix this... Behold, I am all-powerful! *hides from Kage*

Ah, I thought you meant that " Die, chaos-whores" was a stupid and not phylosophical quote, and therefore not sutable.

Or perhaps, more apropriatley: In the universe of blind, the three-eyed man is king.

Or perhaps, more apropriatley: In the universe of blind, the three-eyed man is king. This was about warp realm which is seen by only one pineal eye. And is part of my Navis Nobilite fluff which may became official... vain hopes...

Are you sure that's not a GW quote? If not, cool.

We should avoid official GW 'thoughts' were possible. The so-called "'Fluff' Bible" has been close down because of GW's overt protection of it's IP. Arseholes all, or at least those reprobates that have somehow earned a degree in *cough* 'law'. Anyway, be careful please... Kage

There are, however, a great many other websites with thoughts of the day. We should be reasonably safe here...

Are you sure that's not a GW quote? If not, cool. No, it isn't, as well as "Ignorance is strength". At least 50% of catch phrases are rip-offs...

Even if other websites do have GW quotes, or even whole patches of fluff written by GW, and even if GW themselves got the quotes from another universe or from history, I would prefer it if we came up with some original and unique 'Thoughts'. It's not just to get GW off our backs, it's because I want people to read the 'Thought for the day' and go "Hm! I haven't heard that before... cool!" Our whole project is about adding and creating! Why should this be any different? With that said, remember that not all 'Thoughts' have to be of the Plato-quality, which I will now demonstrate with the following additions... 7. Kill the Alien! 'Twas the Emperor Himself who sentenced them; we may offer them no alliance, no peace, only death. 8. How may the alien, the mutant and the unclean serve our benevolent Emperor? In Death. 9. If a thousand times a thousand men must be made martyrs for Man, their sacrifice is still insignificant compared to that of our Blessed Emperor. 10. Praise your armour and love your weapon, but remember always; your best armour is your faith, your most powerful weapon your hatred. These 'Thoughts' aren't meant to rival the theories of Descartes and Confuscius, they're just meant to set the mood
