I'm in the Roll of Honour? Well thank you! Well, you're already up to 39 posts and doing good work on the world building (hopefully doing a standardised representation soon ), so of course you're on the list! A minor complain, it's spelled Skabbhatt. *mutters* There's just no pleasing you, is there? It's fixed now. This introduction page is gonna replace the forum in ours "signature link" I presume. That would be the idea, yes. It would also be the link we provide when blatantly advertising our project on forums, messageboards, mailing lists and websites.

Yep. Anyway, Zark's on the job, so it shouldn't be too long. After all, he's got a basic design for the page that only needs a little tweaking. He's got the introduction text, the paragraphs from Proteus, the artwork and the Roll of Honour... All that needs doing is some clever copy-pasting, fixing that logo and voilá... the new members will be rolling in ;D Anyhoo, let's make room for the constructive posts before Kage locks this thread too

Ladies and gentlemen, I have been hard at work for the past couple of days, and I present to you (drumrolls): [glow=cyan,2,300]The Anargo Introduction Site[/glow] dread-zone.co.uk/anargo/index.htmThe basic stuff's down, all it needs is tweaking. EDIT: I forgot to mention this, but the navigation bar layout is slightly different on the Members page (two small boxes instead of one big one). Which version do you lot prefer? I personally am undecided...

"Praise the Emporer, for he is our saver?
;D
Anyway, great job. Personaly, I'm still not sure on the colour scheme, ut since I don't have any constructive suggestions I'll just keep stum on that one. Otherwise, great job!
Let the great recruitment drive... Begin!

Praise you, Zark! That is perfect!! Well, almost... "Praise the Emporer for he is our saver" ;D "Malika - Administratus Terraformus [Discussant] " (Malika is not a part of the world building, so he's just a discussant. He's not building a world called Discussant ) "Just to whet your appetite for the Anargo sector..."

Praise you, Zark! That is perfect!! Well, almost... "Praise the Emporer for he is our saver" ;D Sorry, in-joke (Emporer, as in person who runs an emporium, thus someone who saves you money) Will be replaced by proper totd soon, I'm figuring out the script to have random ones pop up. EDIT: OK, this is done. It now displays a random TOTD out of the 40 or so I've added to the script so far. Once we have enough in the list, I'll swap the random number generator out with something that uses the date... "Malika - Administratus Terraformus [Discussant] " (Malika is not a part of the world building, so he's just a discussant. He's not building a world called Discussant ) [/color][/quote] Oops... Guess he can be a Administratus Dialogus then instead... EDIT: This is fixed now "Just to whet your appetite for the Anargo sector..." Technically, this should be correct. Whet, as in Whetstone, meaning Sharpen... I'll run it through a spellcheck (something I always forget to do) EDIT: I just checked... dictionary.reference.com/search?q=whet&r=67I was right! Whet, to hone or sharpen, to make keen. Example: The frying bacon whetted my appetite

Ah, my bad! Sorry for underestimating you there I think the Government part of Proteus shows a rather unrepresentative picture of what world building is about. How about Society and law or Psychology, physiology, language and dialect and Planetary Defence Force instead? They're better for the sample in that they show what kind of stuff we think about while building our worlds. I.e. it's not just about building armies, characters for 40k or Inquisitor, etc Oh, and I prefer one box for the navigation bar, instead of two small ones (such as on the members page)...

A slight problem, from the advert thread on The Warp:
"Minister:
It looks interesting, but it was difficult for me to navigate. My guess is that this website is designed for IE browsers initially. I use Mozilla [1.6] and the tables that are setup do not display correctly. I only bring this up because any Netscape users outthere may have the same problem, as Netscape is built off of Mozilla. Perhaps you can check to see if the site works for IE, Netscape, Opera, Mozilla, etc?"

Hmm... maybe I should do a second version of the site, just for the picky 0.5% of people who don't have CSS compliant browsers...

Very pretty and nice... modifications to the text will eventually follow, but that does the job nicely. Kage

Just thought I'd pop in and say nice work so far Zark. And also to offer a few suggestions. Firstly, the links to outside sites should open in a new window. As well as leaving the user in the Anargo Sector site, it also prevents some very minor legal issues about ownership of pages. That's actually all I can think of. Looks good otherwise. PS - I tried to redirect anargo-sector.tk to the new Site, but it gives some error on permissions. I'll look into it.

Please also note the concerns addressed in Portent regarding the compatability with non-IE browsers. Is there any chance that this could be addressed? Kage

Please also note the concerns addressed in Portent regarding the compatability with non-IE browsers. Is there any chance that this could be addressed? The quick solution is to set up browser checker (I’ve met several but never used one on my sites) and even forbid non-I.E. browsers to see page throwing to plaint html page.
