When I get done with this commission I’ll post a tutorial (a very rough and ready one) and get my template .psd file will grid layer + fonts etc. to you (still waiting on Kage for the final info bits).
Must dash, keep at it - I’ll be back!

Sorry... I was rather, erm, busy last week. But now I've submitted the PhD everything should be slightly easier until I gate State-side, at which point there will be another hiatus as I get things sorted out.
Anyway...
Phillip... Could you repost which information you were after?
I must admit to also wondering whether you would work up a map of Tir'asur for me... that's going to be the next world that I'm going to complete. Then I'm thinking about doing the Academy finally...
Requested information replied to in PM.

If you look at the Anargo map (page 4) there are 4 boxes at the top, 3 of which are filled in with ‘need more info’. I couldn’t read the original jpeg as the writing was to small/ pixelated; I think one was population? I filled in one of the boxes with Anargo’s UWP (second from left) as it looks good.
Can you post what info should go into what box?
Also there is a space on the left for a coat of Arms, does Anargo have a Coat of Arms, and if so can you send me it?

I responded to the PM that you sent me (see above edit ). To repeat for everyone's benefit, from left to right... [/li][li]Date of preparation. [/li][li]UWP (the correct one) [/li][li]Hex scale (one thirty-fifth the circumference in km of the world [/li][li]Location (subsector, co-ordinates). As to Coat of Arms... yes, it probably has one but as with defining every part of the military structure, this wasn't something that I was overtly interested in. I think that someone might have worked one up for the world, though, but I cannot remember the location of this.

Is it possible to get hex maps without the hex overlay on them as well??
Must say I am really impressed with all the images...though a little disapointed as I had been working on a map of Anargo for sometime, removing the hex grid, rendering the coastline and adding lots of extra details!!!
Oh well story of my inputs in to the project this is!!

So how do you get a hexagonal grid, and did you have to cut and paste in layers to get it to match up with the standard map template

To extract the hex grid out of the original template.jped file, use the ‘select>select colour range’ tool, this will bring up a window and change the curser to a little eye drop icon, select one of the grey/black lines with the tip little eye dropper. Set the fuzzyness to something high (like 150-200) and click OK.
This will select the grid, now change to the lasso or marquee tool, right click on the grid and select ‘layer via cut’.
This will create a new layer transparent layer with the grid on it, (the white area will be left on the original layer).
You can now overlay this grid onto your flexifed map.

Hi Dazo, a quick heads up on tools can be found here. They’re in .mov format (I know you have broad band) and are easy to follow. You will need to know how to use the Marquee tool, as this will allow you to cut areas to a new layer and then to resize the cut section. There are many layers to the map I created (over 10), I’ll post a link to the .psd file when Kage gets back to me. Kage,
Dazo’s copy of Photoshop Elements is going to run out very soon…

More like 20+, and that number will grow once Kage gets back to me! That’s a real shame , is there any chance of you obtaining a full copy?

That’s a real shame , is there any chance of you obtaining a full copy? I normally just change the date on my computer when I want to use a trial program that has run out, dunno if it'l work for photoshop...
