Hmm, I don't understand why Nagoma looks so cold. The ocean on Tryphon looks so blue and lovely, but on Nagoma it looks snow white. Is this because of the heavy pollution? Because Nagoma isn't supposed to be that cold. The ocean around the equator is not frozen. Just curious. I added a lot of water vapour to the atmosphere (most of the brightness is from light reflecting of the water droplets), there is no ice on the world and the colour of this world would not be indicative of temp. It has a slight ‘pollution taint’ Mind you I just noticed that the Surface temperature of Nagoma is -4.6 degrees Celsius! Perhaps the Ice world would be better? As for the colour, I picked it because it looked ‘nice’.

Ah, water vapour. Yes, the surface temperature is -4.6 degrees, but it is hotter than that near the equator, so there's a thick line of water around the equator of the world.
Salinas looks suitably dirty, although it looks kinda cold with only the north (?) pole visible.

I've reduced the ice caps, and altered the atmosphere colour, so it does'nt look as cold and looks even more polluted

Ah, water vapour. Yes, the surface temperature is -4.6 degrees, but it is hotter than that near the equator, so there's a thick line of water around the equator of the world. Modified: added Ice caps, single continent, reduced water vapour levels.

Blimey people have been busy.

Good to see that youve got the prog working Dazo means you can work on things that you want done.
Some nice stuff done.

Thanks , I like your pics of proculus, anexus and koralla though so I'd like to keep them as they are, if you could make them the 500 by 500 pixels, which is the standard size now that would be great.

Wee!
A question, in the midst of all this enthusiasm; Can you get the 'world maps' to show the same continents as the 'space maps'? In other words, do the two pictures posted by Philip actually match? Are we looking at the same world, or two different worlds?

No, no that is the actual picture flattened out, I can do that for all the worlds i've done if they are deemed worthy. You cannot however choose how the continents/land looks, i mean you cant really alter it to match up with maps people have already done, so you take what your given basically.

Well then. I'll have to ask Kage what he thinks about using these maps instead of the hexagonical ones (standard template). As I understand it, these are just as correct (they have the right amount of land mass), but a thousand times prettier.

How bout one of then new UWP Darien? 2 sattelites, standard atsmophere - and ive provided a standard rep map to help you :-) Also in orbit various space stations etc (though you neednt show them if its too difficult - the photo could have been taken from them after all). Heres the map: img.photobucket.com/albums/v353/Kyron/Darien/Darien.bmpsorry bout the downsizing - but Photobucket think its too big - just download/print it to make it bigger.

very cool - pretty much how i imagined it actually, and oddly similar to the model i made for BFG - youve even got one of moons in red and one in grey, just like the ones i made and painted for BFG. And to cap it all of it only took you 1 day

Well then. I'll have to ask Kage what he thinks about using these maps instead of the hexagonical ones (standard template). As I understand it, these are just as correct (they have the right amount of land mass), but a thousand times prettier. Yes, they are pretty. There is no escaping this. I really, really like them and wish to keep them. But there are huge problems in terms of standard representations... There is no way of determining distance, for one, meaning that while pretty they are fairly, well, redundant. They are nothing but pretty. The SRs, on the other hand, are ugly as hell (more so when just colour/filled hexagons) but at least they provide information. They are not just "style over substance". Is there any way that we can negotiate between the SR map and the 'pretty images'? At the moment the 'pretty' images would seem to fulfill world types for the overall representation of SR for systems (mentioned in another thread), but I would prefer them to be so much more. Is there a way of creating middle ground...? Edit... I've seen similar pictures to the rectilinear one posted by daz0 above... Brusilov. He seems to be using the same program. The question is whether there is a way of making it conform to the SR image...?

I was under the impression that the 'plugin' or whatever it is can generate the continents according to pre-sets...but I may be wrong here. Is this not how they're supposed to look?
