What sort of online gaming?
I play half-life mods now and then, but I'm not very good. Yourself?

I've only ever tried PBeM and PBF, prefering the former over the latter. Do you have any suggestions? Kage

I've actually played several Living Force scenarios (for the Star Wars RPG) via AIM, and have since gotten together with a few of the other participants in "real life" at conventions.
However, it takes mature players and a strong, prepared referee to make this work. No one wants to wait around while the ref types paragraphs into the "send" window. He's got to have the set desciptions ready to cut and paste!
Most current instant messaging programs even have dice-rolling routines built in. I thoroughly enjoyed my games!

For AIM the protocol is:
//roll-dice#-sides#
So rolling one d20 would be "//roll-dice1-sides20"
...that's the only one I know for certain.

Interesting... I'll have to take a look at that, although I tend to use Trillian for most purposes. Anyway... off to other threads!
