Well i think you have the picture of Orks in the 40k universe then Kage
But i think the more appropriate question would be
Whats makes our Orks Anargo style Orks?
What Trends do they all follow ?
What sections of the Fluff are we going to apply to the Orks near Anargo?

"I'm still getting this hodge-podge and rather random image of the orks in the 40k universe" At least part of this is because there is no single Orkperium with its fingers in every world. Ork kultur has unified roots, but is as diverse as, if not more diverse than, humanity can be.

I'm thinking of writing an article on the most important parts of Ork culture, a sort of Guide to Orks ( ), that explains how ork society is usually built up, and gives the details about weirdboyz, warpheadz, runtherdz, snotlings, gretchin and all other major groups within ork society that readers that weren't around in 2nd Edition might not know about. Edit- To be specific, I plan to write about all the different "types" of orkoids such as Oddboyz, regular orks, gretchin and snotlings. I also plan to write about the different clans, but if the recent WD article on ork clans contains more information than 2nd Ed C: Orks, I will need help with this, since I don't have that issue. Furthermore, I should probably write a bit about ork "genetic memory", to clarify just how this works (do they remember the exact measurements of a bolter, or do they even have metacognition of their own skills, being consciously aware of their knowledge). I should also write a lot about the workings of an Ork empire, and Ork society in general, I suppose. Ork industry is important to explain, as well as communication, economy and -of course- the Waaagh!s. Is there anything else you would like to see explained in such an article? I'm just curious; should I do this as a biased Ordo Xenos report, or from an omniscient POV? I know I'm definitely going to write another Ordo Xenos report on the nature of orks, just to explain our view on orks to everyone. This should be useful for fiction and RPG purposes.

Any such activity would be useful. At present the main conclusion that I have come to is that the orks lack a cohesive image beyond the "shoot things", "argue all the time" and "speak stupidly" approach. The whole genetic knowledge thing strikes me as inherently daft for developed cultures, but that's probably where I'm going wrong... (Reading something about this in a philosophy book the other day and it had some intereting possibilities but would, in essence, make orks mentally deficient.) Kage

And how many people would not argue that orks have a tendency to be bit more towards the retarded side of things?

I don't think Kage is really arguing that orks aren't retarded in more ways than one, Lordof. Rather, I believe he's complaining that the Orks lack a cohesive image. Just saying that they're strong, like fighting and are stupid, is not a cohesive image. Since GW has changed the Ork fluff a lot, and also focused on a few aspects of the Orkoids instead of giving such a cohesive image, I guess they don't really convince Kage. Coupled with the fact that Kage doesn't like the stuff that has been given attention, this should explain why Kage goes around bitching about them all day long ;D As for the intelligence of orks, that's one of the issues I'll have to address in my article, so that even if ork players around the world have completely different opinions about that, at least the Anargo Sector Project will have taken a stand, and hopefully one that all its members agree with. Of course, I'll need your help for that What I intend to write about in said article is as follows; Ork Society Ork Oddboys Orkoids (Gretchin, Snotling, maybe Squigs) Ork industry (mekboy workshops and factories) Ork economy (teef) Ork Waaagh!s Ork Warp travel Ork Intelligence and "Genetic memory"
