Hi, i got directed here by Kage, this is a sweet site, i always hoped there would be an enlightened few who would take the step GW never dared but which i'd always dreamed of doing one day. I must say though i feel a bit overwhelmed do u guys all have PHD's So how do i get a world CELS' edit; Yes, we all have PHDs, we're all over 30, and we're all members of MENSA. That's actually our three criteria for joining the ASP.... Ok, I'm kidding ;D Note; PM has been sent to Dazo to explain how one 'gets a world'

Howdy. I found ASP through Portent, which I started reading for the rumours but now mainly hang out at for the Background Forum argubates on the larger 40K universe. Since ASP seems to be trying to create a larger (and rational) 40K universe, seemed natural to drop in and try to contribute.

Hi im Witch Finder General Kyron, and im a fluff addict. Im responsible for the future system of Darien and creator of amateurish concept sketches. Im interested in this project primarily to find a home for the Darien 12th regiment and their homeworld, to feed my £100-a-year fluff addiction and find acceptance for my incipient artistic abilities.

Hi everyone
I'm Philip Sibbering, a freelancer for the Black Library.
Zhould pointed this forum out to me when we were discussing hive worlds over on Black Library's forum a while back, finally got around to saying hi on portent and thought I'd pop over and introduce myself here.
While here at Anargo my main interest will be the concepts of 40K building and equipment design.

Hi. I'm ZoomDog and I'd like to help on this project please. Seriously, my course is now finished and I am officially unemployed. So until I find myself a job expect to see alot more of me around in the forums (and hopefully after I get a job too).

Glad to have you back, Zoom. Now get to that 'pirates haven' that we were talking about at one point. If you look at the 'temporary maps' that I've created you'll see that there is a lovely world nominally part of the Anargo sector which is still quite some considerable distance away...

I’m somewhat of a ‘ghost’ when this forum is considered. I’m something of an Adeptus Mechanicus fan and have (supposedly) constructed a basic representation of them based upon my own interpretations and such. I’m also an avid fan of the Eldar and their structure. Kage and I have had many an interesting conversation concerning the Eldar (most of which leave my humble interpretations shattered . Other than that there isn’t much else to say. I would say that you will see me on the boards but more often than not you won’t.

Hi, thanks to CELS for pointing this out to me . I am 97alehol, but you can all call me 97. I've wanted to contribute to the fluff for this project for a while and will probably drop in from time to time when I think I have a good idea. Great project and I am excited to have a small part in it. Thanks

Hi, I'm Reabe. I Play 40k with Emperor's Grandchildren Space Marines and I'm hoping to be able to make a Alpha Legion Chaos Space Marine army (To balance out the ying and yang). How do you get a world? I know someone else asked this but I havn't seen the answer on this board yet. If there already is, I'll see it and I'll edit this. Cheers. CELS' edit; To answer this question once and for all, the process of world creation described HERE

Lloyd here, and I really don't want my own world =)
I have been out of Warhammer 40k for quite some time, but I was quite the rules junkie when I was (not so much with the fluff). However, I always built armies around a story, rather than a strategy because it made painting and playing more exciting.
I would love to help out any way I can. I have an extensive knowledge of political theory and history although it is a stretch to apply either of my two majors to this project. I don't know enough 40k fluff to even know where to start on creating a world, but when it comes to governments, beauracracy, human behavior, and killing things, I've done my homework. I'll just roam around and add comments where I can add something, but if anyone wants any help with anything, just ask, boredom is my minor.

edit: anything Blood Angels I'll jump on like, well, a trampoline

Lloyd here, and I really don't want my own world =) That's a shame... I would love to help out any way I can. We do have space for someone who is interested in the more 'abstract' threads. The majority of the members we have are interested in worldbuilding in terms of giving a context to their armies, but it would be great if someone would join into the threads were we discuss how everything actually operates! There are more holes in this aspect of the 'fluff' than in any army, at least when it comes down to the meat of it... I have an extensive knowledge of political theory and history although it is a stretch to apply either of my two majors to this project. I think that you might be pleasantly surprised. While my interest in political theory and history is restricted either through general reading or my own research, we all try and apply what we know to increase the depth of the universe and ultimately enrich it. I don't know enough 40k fluff to even know where to start on creating a world... Luckily the 'fluff' has absolutely nothing to do with world creation. If it did then there would be little point to the project. There are some threads that I could point you to which explain the process, but ultimately it 'requires' downloading the odd program or file, having a look around the various subsector boards and see if there is anything that either inspires you or you think that you have percolating in your mind that will inspire others! I'll just roam around and add comments where I can add something, but if anyone wants any help with anything, just ask, boredom is my minor. One thing that I should say is that you should be careful with this approach. If you're not actually doing something yourself people might take offence at what they view as inappropriate criticism. Just make the comments to the point, constructive and more than a one-liner without being too opaque and you'll be on to a winner. anything Blood Angels I'll jump on like, well, a trampoline Personal preferences are to be moderated. I personally want to to do the same with the orks, but am reminded of the quote by Oberon in the Chronicles of Amber series by Zelazy: "No man can have everything he wants the way he wants it."

"No man can have everything he wants the way he wants it." word I've never had one post so accurately dissected before...damn One thing I forgot to add which I now think could be helpful, I have extensive religious studies experience, both in political interaction and the development of western religions. GZ NB; Seleca III, the agri-planet, Dazo? I dig it. CELS' Edit: And with that, let's stop the discussion here. This is meant to be a check-in point, after all. We have an entire forum for general discussion Oh, and welcome to the ASP, GZ ;D
