It's a bit dead around here, there are only a few of us come over from Portent and we are in need of fresh recruits. So, possible ideas:
1. Request Portent users to put a project link in their signatures.
2. Remind Portenters of the project but who have not followed that it does still existr, possibly by PM.
3. Post "advert" threads on selected forums (EldarOnline was suggested).
Thoughts, gentlemen (and any ladies)?

All valid suggestions, though most likely the 'move' caused problems that it doesn't up your post count on Portent (not so surprisingly a problem) and, to be honest, that it requires a bit more work than posting a few paragraphs. That's the cynic in me for the last point, however. EO has a severe problem with people posting advertisements. I did the same a while back and got shouted for it, even though I was only trying to generate interest in the project at that site and not getting them to go to Portent... Such is their way (and the fact that it took interest away from their CWEO project). Anyway, anything that can be done to boost interest makes sense... ...I'll even try to get some of the more basic information started. But full-time job coupled with full-time PhD tends to mean that you have few hours spare during the day. Kage

Splendid!
1. Links in signatures is a must for any self-respecting member. To this forum then, or to an eventual introduction page?
2. If you want. I don't have much faith in this, personally.
3. All popular forums and messageboards should be advertised to, in a very careful manner. Malika suggested that we should leave out DakkaDakka, because of the quality of that forum (or rather the lack of it), but I say we should invite as many people as possible. I'd rather spend my time directing unwanted members away from the Project, than begging individual members to to join/return to the project.

Right you are. I would suggest that we link to this forum for the Portent (and other) sigs, as there's more here than on the temporary web site.

Would anyone care to think up a standard Anargo signature? Something that sounds interesting, without being cheesy.

What I have at the moment is "The Anargo Sector Project: building an entire secotr for 40K", which I will agree isn't all that good but gets the job done for now.

Tau and Kroot mailing lists might not be the best place to look...
Anyway, I think we are all agreed that we should be vigilant for possible victi.... Members! Yes, members.

Aaaww, this forum needs an 'evil grin' smiley ;D But instead of everyone just agreeing on being vigilant, how about setting up a list of forums, message boards, msn groups, yahoo groups, etc, where we can blatantly advertise our Project without getting banned, flamed, and called names. Personally, I only visit Portent on a regular basis, and I'm a member of a fairly large, but quiet mailing group. I could visit other groups and web sites though, if no one else is already a regular poster. Anyway, the suggestions so far; Portent.... 40k_universe (my yahoo group) The GW message board (?) DakkaDakka Kompletely Kroot TotalTau Oh, and I know the last three might not be optimal spots to look for new members, but even if only one out of a thousand readers is interested, that's like 10% more members

Hey, for what it's worth, your title will look even cooler if there are a handful of people without titles I take it you have no further suggestions then?

"Hey, for what it's worth, your title will look even cooler if there are a handful of people without titles." Right! Who's up for the assault on the GW boards? ;D

Who's up for the assault on the GW boards? ;D I may try, but they forbid posting URL, and the contingent there on BL Forum isn’t that aspiring if you get me... Should I??
