CELS invited me along to the show so I thought I'd introduce myself just to let you know I'm here.
I won't be posting much soon, because I know from experience how irritating it is when someone drops in from nowhere and starts making suggestions without reading through the history. I'm going to browse the forum and the original portent thread for a week or so before I say much else.
I'm not all that into making up new worlds or suchlike. I'm more interested in the fringe elements of future society - the media, law enforcement, super-corporations and suchlike. No doubt I will find much food for thought in the archives here.
See you later.
Robey.

Hey there... Welcome. Since CELS invited you I will not give you any standardised 'blurb', moreso because I don't particularly believe in it! From what you've said it seems that you'll have some views to include in the economical aspects of the sector and, perhaps, some views on the adeptus astartes. One thing, however. New members should create a world. It puts everything in perspective... given your emphasis and, well, because I'm inherently lazy, one of the worlds of the capital subsector would be very useful and allow integration into such things. Excepting that, perhaps the 'hiveworld subsector' with it's overt mercantile aspect and the fact that it is a rival to the traditional seat of power, Anargo... Kage

Adeptus Astartes? Well, yes, but I also assume the Adeptus Arbites would be of great interest, and no one else have shown any particular interest in these, so that gives you some freedom. For super-corporations, I actually think you should have a look at working with Kage in the capital subsector. The hiveworld subsector is kinda the heart of commerce in the sector, but that doesn't mean it should be the only place with commerce. Perhaps it would be good to put someone with interest in commerce in the capital subsector as well.
Anyway, get back to us when you've had a read

Adeptus Astartes? Well, yes, but I also assume the Adeptus Arbites... <sigh> Yep, that's what I meant: the adeptus arbites! ...would be of great interest, and no one else have shown any particular interest in these, so that gives you some freedom. There will, however, be no 'individualised 'fluff'' for the adeptus arbites. Rather they will be incorporated on both the local and the Imperial level...The nature of this integration is up for discussion... For super-corporations, I actually think you should have a look at working with Kage in the capital subsector. The hiveworld subsector is kinda the heart of commerce in the sector... Erm not it is not... the capital has always been the heart of activity for the sector but, with the formation of the new forgeworld, the "hiveworld subsector" is now beginning to alter the economic focus away from the 'cultural heart'. Ah, my bad. What do you mean by individualised fluff though?

Only that the adetpus arbites as an Imperial organisation should have both 'meta' or 'linking' concepts that are applicable to all worlds as well as individual interpretations for each world (i.e. the 'individuaised' that I was originally referring to). It is important that we create guidelines that are applicable, as much as possible, throughout the Imperium so as to offer a structure to our interpretation. This means that we avoid the approach of GW where the reaction of every world is totally unique and cannot be transferred to another... The concepts behind the integration of the adetpus arbites on a local level is also going to be something that is going to apply to other Imperial organisations... Kage

Hi there Kage, this is the artist formerly known as RogueTrader ... Just wanted to let you know that I'm here too! ;D Excellent... now that you're here you are back to being a Project Manager/Mod of the Artwork forum with the somewhat difficult task of trying to get the artists to sign up over at this end of the world! Welcome, malika... AFAIK that part of the background of the Anargo sector is still fluid... Which reminds me: We really should get some more concrete information down on that, though more likely as separate 'historical' threads in each racial forum. Hmmn... that seems a rather obvioust thing to do now since individuals will be more inclined to create something that they're interested in. Then it just becomes a point of integration, which is never that hard... Kage
