First off, the mod thing. orangesm, when you have a concept just post it as a separate thread. Despite the way that the other thread was going it really wasn't designed for a discussion of the relative merits of various concepts.
The first system has a couple of planetoid belts, the second has no planetoid belts. Despite the resource value, which was only a guideline in those circumstances where people wanted to create a 'mining world', the mineral wealth of the planetoid belt would depend upon its composition... A predominant N-zone could represent an established mining community and then, to bring in the resource value, one could suggest that it has essentially been played out. That would create a rather interesting situation, both in terms of RPG and wargame potential (as well as, of course, the 'fluff').
With regards to 'spacecraft' manufacture, we've got an awful lot of people trying to do that in the system. I cannot remember off the top of my head just how many but still... Regardless, one must also remember that they will not be producing interstellar spacecraft. That is the province of Anargo Secundus, at present, with support in 'shells' from Anargo Primus.
(The idea of "new ships" sends most peoples' hackles up already without giving them more than one reason...)
On Imperial Guard... An interesting proposition, though you must note that they don't really have any atmosphere to 'practice in', do they? Why would a world defined by asteroids need an interface-based force?
On the Rogue Trader... Care must be taken with terminology. No state-sanctioned Rogue Trader has been within the Anargo sector for some time. There are, however, obviously the planet-sponsored 'rogues' which appear to moreoften than not have a planet-sponsored 'permanent-temporary charter', as it were.

Ok they manufacture a low grade (not capable of taking on thunderbolt or of carrying nearly the same amount of ammo) aerospace fighterbomber/space fighter. This would be their major export. They probably also export asteriod mining experience in the form of veteran miners. Sound good?
On the Imperial Guard, it is a good point. However would the Departmento Munitorum recruit the Space Defence Wings as Naval Wings? or would they be Guard Wings (for wars in asteriod belts and gas gaint systems).
So is the chosen system a good one or not?

What you talkin about. Hmm thats not what you said to me, you said i wasn't feasable to have a mining world or even a colony in a system with such a low resource value from what i've gathered no its not a good system but this one might be 12,40,7 - M-V - C8B0100-8 S De Lo 930 Im 090 Desert planet, no civilisation Big with a nasty atmosphere high resource value and 3 asteroid belts so plenty of mining potential. Because its a rather nasty world, the miners might well have simply decided to set up shop on the asteroids. you could use the world as the main processing and manufacturing base but you dont have i suppose.

Going to go ahead and switch to Dazo's first suggestion. But with some modifications to represent the fact it has a population now.
9,40,6 - M-V - X00000-0 As Ba Lo 005 Im 050
I am having a little trouble decriptering the code as it seems parts are missing. If I could get a little help in changing the above to have a Population setting of 7 (tens of millions). A governmental structure of 1 (Corperation), a Law of 4 (Light Assault Weapons Prohibited), make it an Industrial System. and remove the Low Population. Also it should probably have a decent Starport and possibly even a Naval Base.

No, nothings missing. This system is as dead as the dodo. These are the modifications that will give you what you want, so X000000-0 As Ba Lo 005 Im 050 ends up as, C000614-9 As Ba Lo 705 Im 050 Everything that can be changed has been, the first three zero's after the C, size, atmosphere, hydrographics can not be altered, Ive also increased the TL to 9 as i would think space mining requires fairly high technology. I've also given it an average spaceport, you will need a really good reason why an asteroid would have a brilliant space port. As to the naval base the world isn't rich enough or important enough to warrent one of those Which system are you using to generate the world details. As you don't have any asteroid belts you could make the main world, which is an asteroid part of the ring system of as gas giant This is where you should go to see what the format of the finished world should follow kagemat.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=BuildGeneral&action=display&thread=1079313884And this is where you need to go to get the info to create you world kagemat.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=BuildGeneral&action=display&thread=1072232779If you havn't already that is

Planet description Archipelago 2 is a gas giant with 3 Planetoid Rings orbiting it at ~1,500 km, ~9,500 km, and ~10,600 km above the ‘surface’. These rings were inhabited by human settlers in the Dark Age of Technology and have maintained a high level of industrialization. The inhabitants Archipelago are masters at building intra-system ships are famous within the sector for their Thunderclap Starfighters and Ambassador Class Shuttles. The first planetoid ring is made up of ice rocks. The second and third rings are a mix of mineral rocks and iron nickel rocks. These are mined for water and materials.
Government Archipelago is controlled by the Archipelago Corporation, who enforces Imperial Rule throughout the system. The Imperium granted the Archipelago Corporation control over the entire system in M32. The President is the Imperial Governor, elected by the Board of Directors and then approved by the Sub-Sector Administratum. The Board of Directors is elected by the employees (roughly a quarter of the population).
Religion The Imperial Cult practiced in Archipelago pays particular attention to protection from the void and the warp and thanking the Emperor for his protection from the evils of the galaxy.
Society and law Archipelago revolves around the mining of the mineral wealth, intra-system ship manufacture, and the continued survival of its people. The people are a stubborn folk who have maintained their civilization for over 20,000 years. They have resisted invasions by Orks for almost as long as they have existed. The law within the cities, towns, and stations is maintained by the Adeptus Arbites and the Company Department of Safety (the standard Safety Enforcer is called a Nickel for his Nickel badge). In addition to Imperial Law, general law protects company property and company employees. It regulates non-Company media sources, ensuring they do not hamper Company policy. The law forbids the purposeful killing of other humans. The Company Law is there to maintain good order and employee moral.
Technology The Archipelago Corporation has maintained a high level of technology since Imperial contact. Before then the system maintained an intra-system ship industry which gives Archipelago its primary export – the Thunderclap. They are above the galactic norm technologically having the equivalent technology of Ultramar and small ‘orbital’ docks not unlike those found in Ultramar. (Used Ultramar as a reference as I am familiar with it and it also would be known throughout the Imperium.)
Trade and tithes The system is self supporting but relies on hydroponics to provide food. As a highly industrialized system it manufactures and exports parts and whole spacecraft to the rest of the Sub Sector, its biggest export being the Thunderclap Starfighter. It trades this for food. In ages past the system actually traded with the Sub Sector it bordered until the Ork invasion cut them off. They are tithed the Thunderclap for shipment to other planets and for the Navy’s use. Also every decade a Wing of Thunderclaps and a Regiment of Void Troopers is tithed to provide space fighters to fight Orks at their asteroid bases.
Physiology Archipelagians are very light in complexion however they have a good mix of colors.. They also tend to have a taller build as the lower gravity makes for it benefical.
Psychology Archipelagians tend to consider off-worlds to be ‘weaker’. They view offworlds as having been raised in an easier place, where they did not face death by void at any moment. Towards most offworlds they are all business, but when amongst themselves they are a close group, who spend a lot of time enjoying what little free time they may have.
Language and dialect The system speaks a version of Low Gothic which has a heavy Ancient Germanic influence but also contains elements from Ancient East Asia, making it one of the most eclectic dialectics of Low Gothic.
Planetary Defense Force The system is defended by a Space Force consisting of 10 Thunderclap Wings and 10 Void Infantry Regiments (comparable to Drop Trooper Regiments and Air Mobile Regiments crossed with Imperial Navy Stormtroopers). A series of out system detection systems dating from the Dark Age of Technology allow for early warning of a coming invasion.
History The system was settled during the Dark Age of Technology and by necessity has maintained a high level of technology. They continue to manufacture intra-system craft of STC design. Among these are the now Sector famous Thunderclap Starfighter. This ancient STC design is all but lost, Archipelago being one of the last systems to produce itIt is with these wings and their ancient detection systems that they are able to defeat multiple Ork incursions; however they fight a constant battle over the moons of the farthest gas giant to deny the Orks the system as a base. From these PDF forces is drawn some of the few Imperial Guard Air Regiments and some of the finest Drop Troops in the Sector. It is with these wings and their ancient detection systems that they are able to defeat multiple Ork incursions; however they fight a constant battle over the moons of the farthest gas giant to deny the Orks the system as a base. A famous group of Starfighter pilots from Archipelago now patrols the systems surrounding it under Imperial Navy contract and contract from various Imperial Governors, Andy’s Aces.

Well it seems the two mods for castellan are on sebatacle so i'l try and do this, as i know what it feels like when no one comments on all the hard work you put into your world , sorry but this could hurt a little Firstly did you follow the guide, as some of the numbers you quote seem a little odd, or non existant eg ? why do they vary also we work in degrees C not kelvin, or at least we express temp in degrees C not K What does MPa mean, we use atm, it probably means the same thing but if you could use atm it would be less confusing You have an M class star, its mass will be significantly less than sol there are lots of inconsistencies, do you have the H&E program downloaded as it will do all of that stuff for you, then all you have to do is copy and paste. You seem to have made most of these numbers up your self, and while I am not outraged others will be, if you want me to I can run the numbers for you while you work on the rest of the SR. On to which Ok the primary world for your system as bizare as it maybe is the asteroid described in the UWP so describe that first, leave the gas giants until you do the extended system description. Yes you can say the asteroid orbits a gas giant, but use that more to colour the description of the primary world. I would leave that out of the planet description and add it to the histroy part Why would you have elected officials in a company, would they not be promoted for their skills in managment and buisness acumen While the export of fighters is a good idea, i am a little uneasy about the advanced nature of these ships, the adeptus mechanicus wouldn't really allow that sort of thing unless they had a direct hand in it. And I would avoid comparisons with ultramar, as they are probably on a footing with the terran system in terms of technology. Why would they have a good mix of colours they all live indoors, they never see the sun. Low gravity on the moons yes but it would be zero g on the asteroids so there would need to be gravity plating of some kind so the factories would actually be able to make stuff without it all floating off. Also large moons might have good gravity so they would be different again, also more likely to be colonised. The mearest mention, whiff, glimmer of an STC and that system would be crawling with the mechanicus, administrutam and inqusition like flies on...anyway, it wouldn't be lost for long if they still have the mechanicus would get it then every forge world from proteus to mars would have it. Either say its a non STC design that proved to be very good or that the company has been given a charter to build these fighters by the administratum Right i'm done hope it wasn't to painful, also i'm fairly easy going so I probably have been more forgiving than most, its a good concept, and that was a good first attempt at an SR but it needs alot more work before it will be accepted as finished

Sorry I am Engineer. Some of the info was created using actual equations for bodies orbiting our sun. I suppose I should go ahead and dl the program... or just cancel the world. (I dont have a ton of time on my hands)

Whoa, whoa man no need to do that, its a simple thing to redo, if you down load the H&E program it take's only a few seconds to generate, if you don't have it go here [ftp]http://www.downport.com/wbd/HEAVEN_&_EARTH.htm[/ftp] If for any reason you can't down load it, I don't mind doing it for you Damn I thought I was gentle. The descriptive part needs a little work, but hell take your time every one else seems to, do it when you have time. My circumstances mean i have loads of time but I know there's alot of people on the project that have like ten jobs and are writing a PHD so your not alone in being busy and you think I was harsh you should see what i've had to go through to get just one of my worlds almost accepted Zholud is a hard task master

Alright redoing the system using Heaven & Earth... Dazo I really meant that I am having trouble finding time... it isnt your fault... the system is rather complex and I am still getting used to it. However the program is generating planets that arent there? Any help?

It should be set to MT for both and standard UWP generation in the rules bit which is in the options bit. and yes it will generate other planets, don't worry about it as long as you have the main world and all the gas giants and asteroid belts then its fine. I like seeing what terrestrial planets it generates as they can be very interesting when it comes to doing the system write up. You are talking about extra terrestrial planets aren't you not extra gas giants
