Ok what I've noticed is that all chaos presence in the 40k universe seems to be human related: -Chaos Space Marines: used to be human, but are now Marines -Traitor Guard: are still human -Mutants: humans with genetical flauds -Cultists: humans
The only other different thing than humans would be Deamons.
But what about aliens who work with/for Chaos: -The Xenarch: they were working with Chaos. -The Kai: They created weapons for Chaos before they were wiped out.
But what about other aliens, aliens from the "main races": -Chaos Eldar: crone world eldar? -Chaos Orks: Storm Boyz who have gone too far perhaps? -Chaos Kroot: ate a CSM -Chaos Genestealer: back in the RT days there were Khornate Genestealer Cults

Ok what I've noticed is that all chaos presence in the 40k universe seems to be human related: -Chaos Space Marines: used to be human, but are now Marines -Traitor Guard: are still human -Mutants: humans with genetical flauds -Cultists: humans Given that 3 of the 4 chaos gods are the resulst of human emotions, it would make sense for there to be an emphasis on the human / chaos link. The only other different thing than humans would be Deamons. Which are parcels of the chaos gods power, given independence and sentience. But what about aliens who work with/for Chaos: -The Xenarch: they were working with Chaos. I don't know that I'm familiar with these. Can you tell me where you got them from? -The Kai: They created weapons for Chaos before they were wiped out. Wiped out, as you say. But what about other aliens, aliens from the "main races": -Chaos Eldar: crone world eldar? -Chaos Orks: Storm Boyz who have gone too far perhaps? -Chaos Kroot: ate a CSM -Chaos Genestealer: back in the RT days there were Khornate Genestealer Cults Crone world eldar were something myself and a friend were developing some time ago. We still have quite a chunk of notes on these. Given that they only had a 1 paragraph mention in one of the old RT era books, I wouldn't give much for the odds of having any show up here. Storm Boyz of Khorne ... again, not really seen since RT days. Ditto for the chaos genestealer cults. Chaos kroot might be do-able, if a mercenary kindred took on a chaos cult, and the shaper couldn't prevent them chowing down. Another possibility is chaos squats, but they're about as rare as the crone world eldar. You could also add in deamon engines .... deamonically possessed chaos war machines. Unless you have a major chaos incursion though, you're unlikely to see these. While I am as devoted a follower of the dark powers as you're likely to come across, I don't think most of these would fit within the sector as I understand you're trying to set up. One chaos force I do think might fit would be a heretical Inquisitor .. one who has stepped over the line just once too often, and now a true servent of the dark gods.

Genestealers have there own hivemind until there linked with the real hivemind so they remain uneffected by the warping effects of chaos and they cetainly don't worship them but they have been know to work with chaos cults to cause chaos until the hive fleets reach them.
but i don't know about eldar ethir they really really hate chaos since they cause there down fall but i'm not sure about dark eldar on that one i'm fairly sure there godless headionist or at least they worship khaine in his most dark aspect but his fairly dark as it is.
the hurd may have chaos connections because they have that nifty plasma warp technology.

Not entirely true. Back in the RT days, before the Genestealers were absorbed into the Tyranid fluff, it was possible to have a chaos genestealer cult. The idea was that a cult that had been severely weakened might turn to chaos in order to get the additional strength / power to survive. but i don't know about eldar ethir they really really hate chaos since they cause there down fall but i'm not sure about dark eldar on that one i'm fairly sure there godless headionist or at least they worship khaine in his most dark aspect but his fairly dark as it is. In either the Compendium or the Companion (I can never remember which) there is a single paragraph stating that some few eldar survived the birth of Slaanesh and the decimation of the eldar worlds. Those Eldar worlds that were within the area now occupied by the Eye of Terror became the Crone Worlds. None one really knows what happened to the few survivors of the Fall.

Well Slannesh didn't Chow down on some of the Eldar who worshipped him/her as a god at Slannesh's creation.
These are the Crone Eldar
But the Vast majority of Roaming Chaos Beings are of human descent. You may have some which are Technical advisors or Counselors but you may get some which are Mercs etc. (Like those Critters which use Flachette rounds out of The Gaunts Ghosts series)

Well Slannesh didn't Chow down on some of the Eldar who worshipped him/her as a god at Slannesh's creation. These are the Crone Eldar) The pyschic shockwave of Slaaneshs birth blew away the warp storms that had sealed off large chunks of the galaxy, thus freeing the carrion lord to begin his crusade from Earths solar system, tore a massive rent in realspace / warpspace (ie created the Eye of Terror) and wiped out the vast majority of the eldar ... virtually all of those that were still on the eldar planets, and some of the craftworlds that were too close to the Eye. But the Vast majority of Roaming Chaos Beings are of human descent. You may have some which are Technical advisors or Counselors but you may get some which are Mercs etc. (Like those Critters which use Flachette rounds out of The Gaunts Ghosts series) I thought those were humans, of some kind. Basically human at least ;D

But remember that there are many more alien species out there, and they have emotions too, and they might also have a warp presence. The Chaos Gods could also feast upon alien souls... And, there arent just 4 Chaos Gods, yes these 4 are the big ones, but there are many minor Chaos Gods and Warp Powers out there, remember Malal? And werent there 2 other Chaos Gods in WBF back in the day? The Kai were a race enslaved by Chaos before they got wiped out, but does that mean they are the only race enslaved by Chaos? IIRC from the =][= Rule Book, but I remember also reading about it on the net..and there is a thread about them on Portent now...but I remember them being chaos worshipping aliens: forums.portent.net/showthread.php?s=839813eb330b5c31e240a15974cbed62&threadid=134328189

But remember that there are many more alien species out there, and they have emotions too, and they might also have a warp presence. The Chaos Gods could also feast upon alien souls... Probably, but I'd theorise that since they were 'created' by human emotions, maybe human emotions feed them more power. And, there arent just 4 Chaos Gods, yes these 4 are the big ones, but there are many minor Chaos Gods and Warp Powers out there, remember Malal? And werent there 2 other Chaos Gods in WBF back in the day? Yep, I remember Malal. I think he only got a brief mention in WFRP though. While there are a lot more chaos powers in the warp, its only the big 4 that tend to get much focus/ The Kai were a race enslaved by Chaos before they got wiped out, but does that mean they are the only race enslaved by Chaos? Probably not. Ah. I never got into =I=, so I don't have the rulebook.

The galaxy is a huge place, and Chaos is big and smart...it would only be logical for them to enslave other races as well, their qualities might be usefull for Chaos.

The galaxy is a huge place, and Chaos is big and smart...it would only be logical for them to enslave other races as well, their qualities might be usefull for Chaos. An interesting theory, Malika. Chaos Kroot are a possibility, but seeing as how the Kroot will barely have a presence in the Anargo sector (maybe one warsphere drifting in and out), Chaos Kroot will be hard to come by. Unless someone can think of something clever, we should probably just leave them out alltogether, really. Chaos Genestealer... smacks of Imperial Guard jetbikes to me. This is one thing I'd like to steer away from, if possible. I'm sure it's theoretically valid from a certain point of view, but... I'd just feel uncomfortable with it, and I'm sure that a lot of people who don't know the RT days will object to this. That is, unless someone thinks up something really clever and interesting. Chaos Eldar and Chaos Squats... well, there aren't any squats in the Anargo sector, and very, very few Eldar. I think we can probably forget about these. Chaos Eldar is an area I'd like to see explored though. The possibilities for cheesy RPGing are endless ;D Looking at the minor races though, how about Hrud or Unibians? I know that Atlantans can turn to Chaos, if seperated from their kin, and that some Aoideans have probably turned to Chaos over the millennia...

Yeah Malal is cool!
And no the Mercs fighting for the Chaos Forces in the GG series had something like 4 or 6 legs and skin thick enough to absorb Lasbeams, so no i don't think they were human.
Heck i think they even gave them an Inquisitorial thingy

I'm not sure we should use Malal though... I love the idea and all, but just mentioning a fifth Chaos god that has no other mention in GW fluff is... well, I think it's along the lines of detailing the missing primarchs, only worse. And no the Mercs fighting for the Chaos Forces in the GG series had something like 4 or 6 legs and skin thick enough to absorb Lasbeams, so no i don't think they were human. Probably not Heck i think they even gave them an Inquisitorial thingy Aahh, the feared Inquisitorial thingy.... At the risk of provoking a one-line post; what do you mean, exactly?

Gaunt was given a brie Inquisitorial Report on the Mercs listing their capabilities when he went and infiltrated a Chaos held City/Hive Dome.

We dont have to use Malal, but maybe some other minor chaos powers...
The Unibians have many Kroot working for them, but their numbers arent that high to be of great significance in the Anargo Sector.
Chaos Eldar...what about some Eldar individual, travelling through the galaxy, searching for I dunno what. RPG possibilities...
Hrud turning to Chaos? possible...but we dont have enoughinfo on them for that yet.
Unibians turning to Chaos? Probably, but they would do it for profit, they wont try to destroy the entire universe, or try to conquer worlds. They would use warp portals and try to get rare Chaos items to sell them. They might try to be like those travelling evangelists...preaching to Chaos Cults and have them pay lots of money/recourses for being worshipped.
Kasachidur turning to Chaos could be interesting...those would be very dangerous. Im getting ideas for Slaanesh worshipping Kasachidur, them trying to get their whole race to worship Chaos, but their numbers arent that great. And they are probably wandering somewhere in the universe..hunting for pleasures...
