I would be disappointed if there were not a world somewhere in the 40k galaxy with majestic bridges of bone constructed from the remains of creatures that make terran dinosaurs look like newts. [yes, completely impractical due to volume/weight ratios, but I love the image]

Like the one on Red Sonja ;D In terms of bonded armour i think GW had in mind things like reflective power armour or ablative carapace armour, but yours is good to though it would be hard to manufacture

<grin> So basically anything goes with armour as long as it suits your individual interpretation of the 40k universe... Yup, that's fairly consistent with the canonical universe!

Still, it might be constructive to apply a generality - "Much of the high-quality personal armour issued to the units of the Imperial Guard is composed of x/y/z..."

Well they get flak armour as a general rule and thats sort of like a laminate armour, perhaps if their lucky, with an ablative coating. As to materials i would have thought synthetic fabrics maybe layered with thin metallic plates
