Which as Minister says is a variation of the bike given in Akira and various 'cyberpunk' RPGs, though they likely gain their inspiration from Akira... Kage

Well, it is more along the Japanese sci-fi than most stuf GW nicks, although if the Tau had bikes, they would look like that.

well, I remember in an old CItadel Journal there was thi article about using bikes in Necromunda, and that they used Akira inspired models

I personally do not want to see any Akira-inspired stuff in 40k, because I think that eventhough 40k is a mishmash of all kinds of imagery from Star Wars, Star Trek, Judge Dredd, Tolkien, and lots of other sources, it still has a very western and european feel to it, IMO.
40k technology is not streamlined and sexy like Akira, it's big, bulky and gothic, with skulls on.
