I've got about fifty of them on the computer at home, many of which are original, but I'm not back there for two weeks (you couldn't have mentioned this yesterday? ;D).

I'm very impressed with that image, Zark. I'd personally reduce the left 'frame' a tad, though. I would also say that the 'Thought of the Day' is a fantastic idea. I'm very keen on it especially if we could open this up to visitor submissions...? Kage

The white text on the green background didn't render properly, it's too anti aliased. It'd be replaced by proper text in the finished website. Fonts can be changed easily enough, though, depending on what is decided as the 'Anargo' font.
I like the idea of thought of the day too. Maybe as a seperate 'box' above the current two with a scrolling marquee?
The plan for the menu was to scale the width to fit the longest of any entries in the menu.

Scrolling marquee? But the idea was that there would just be one quote, changed each day, and thus living up to the whole 'Thought of the day'-idea ;D
Would this be possible?

There would still be only 1 quote per day, but it would scroll from right to left, to be more eye-catching
That's what I meant, anyhow.

That's what I thought... Excellent... We really need to set up that discussion... That and advertising on Portent. Wonder if it's another way of getting new members. Hmmn. Kage

Maybe it would be cool to make sort of an introduction page. You know, a fancy page explaining what we're doing, with some of the artwork, maybe some short extracts from our writings, maybe a bit of fiction.... maybe even a background What do you think? Better than just posting a link to this forum?

Yes, have an introduction page (possibly work on that first so as that we can use it as an advert for the project).
Another thought, it might be a good idea to put a little badge at the top of the screen for when a section is not presented as coming straight from the 40K universe (like the Project History, Wargaming and Project Happenings bits).

Maybe a short intro would suffice as part of an opening movie.
The rest could go into another part of the site (the 'about' page maybe?)
As for the badge idea, it could work. Maybe something like:
Anargo Crest: 'In-character' Inquisition Symbol: 'In-Character' but not from the Imperium's viewpoint (ie the Inquisitors know it but not the rest of the imperium) Adeptus Mechanicus Symbol: 'Out-of-character' pages like prject status and team members.

A bloody great idea, the badge thing! Do you think people will understand though?
As for the introduction page that people have been talking about, Zark- that's just something that we will produce before the site is done, since it will take a long time before we have a website, and we need some cool page to help recruiting.
And yes, this introduction page will be part of the 'About' section, when the Anargo website is up and running.

Well, we could put up a little badge on each:
Administratum: Planetary information Inquisition: Classified files Adeptus Mechanicus: Technical information Dice: wargaming material
etc. and put a little key on the front page.

I think it would make more sense to have an Inquisition's badge on the top of an alien planet, than an Administratum badge. I think Zark's in-character and out-of-character idea was pretty good, actually.
Out of curiosity, what is the badge of the Administratum?

A kinda scrawly "a" (more like a lower case alpha realy), often superimposed on the Imperial "I".

One thing that I'm very keen on is that we don't just copy and paste huge swathes of established 'fluff' into the project. If we have to re-write/paraphrase then fine. But let us show that it is possible to work with the GW 'fluff' and go beyond it... And Zark, hope you don't mind the new 'responsibility' as it were... Kage

I'm assuming that you don't mind plonking in the odd "grey box style" quote to the texts? There are a coupple of realy good ones which could be used.
