Hey all! Since I've now got as many as four armies featuring in the Anargo sector, I thought I'd post a few pictures here from time to time. I'll start by showing you the almost finished Retribution class battleship, Legatum Anargo, the flagship of the Anargo sector. This is a great model, and it's a joy to paint. Comments are welcome!

Very, very nice CELS. I like your choice of colour scheme on your models. The Legatum Anargo is very nice. What do you still have to do on it?
The Guardsmen from Archaios are very good. The lasguns are really good.

Thank you all for your compliments! To answer your questions; I still need to add red signal lights on the Legatum Anargo, and correct a few mistakes here and there, and add the name to the base, of course. Thanks for the comment on the lasguns by the way! I was really worried that they didn't fit quite right, because they were too dark. But I think making them desert yellow, like the armour, might have been too boring... For naming my ships, Shamus... well... the Legatum Anargo I got from a computer game... I forget if it was Wing Commander or Descent: Freespace. Anyway, there was a ship called Legacy. Now, "Legacy of Anargo" has too many syllables, and latin is cool, so.... Legatum Anargo Anyway, here are some more pics, which I hope you like. The first is of Battlefleet Anargo (well, part of it). The Legatum Anargo, the Saint Sistina (Dominator class cruiser), and a couple of frigates. The second is of the Frost Bringer fleet, with the Winterbourne battle barge, and the Cold fury, Frost Hammer and Ice Wraith strike cruisers

Yes, but... erm... but... ah! Your photography needs some work! Where's the starfield in the background? The printed out picture of a world so that we can see them in orbit! Hey!? <Kage shuffles off at completely inappropriate and even more completely tongue-in-cheek comment> Although there is that... taking them against a black background would allow us to do some computer wizardry and add this type of stuff later... Food for later thoughts, perhaps? (And completely incidentally, I was indeed more impressed...)

Im going to say it again, Im really impressed by your painting skills, I wish mine were so good, Im more of a converter, Im going to have my Alpha Legion repainted by a friend of mine. He is a crappy modeller but great painter, so in return for him painting my Alpha Legion I have to convert several Ork things for him havent done any Ork models in a while so that could be exiting

LoL! Thanks for your comments, guys. Even the tongue-in-cheek ones. Actually, if someone was up to it, it would be quite cool to do a forgeworld, and edit these pictures in photoshop or something and add a background, some flashy lights, etc. I saw something similar done to an ork ship model in the Portent galleries... Dazo, yes, these are supposed to represent ships that are actually in the Anargo sector in 470.M41. As mentioned above, the battleship here is actually the flagship of Battlefleet Anargo. The Frost Bringer Winterbourne actually appears in the Anargo Chronicles. I love converting too, Malika. And though it's not directly related to the Anargo sector, I'll risk posting a picture of an orbital dock I built for BFG. Other than that... what can I say? I've been painting miniatures for 8 years, and I've painted over 400 miniatures by GW if my estimate is correct. I would be seriously upset if I hadn't learned something after all that Because of all your compliments, I've risked posting some of my pictures in the Portent galleries, along with a link to the ASP. More publicity, perhaps

I like the dock, eventhough to me it looks more like something which is Epic sized instead of BFG, but that'st just me I guess

Most impressive. The scrolly-writing on the bases particularly. Although I still think that red with black and gold would have looked better...

You think the orbital dock looks Epic-sized? Well, maybe it will help when I add the attack craft I've ordered from forgeworld and GW. Would red and black and gold have looked better? Possibly. But I'm saving that for Inquisitorial Black Ships, when those come out. I understand Fanatic has already made rules. The colours of Segmentum Ultima? I've no idea. I don't think there's any fluff on that. There is fluff on the colours of the Segmentum Obscurus though, I think. But I don't know that either ZD asked me about the colours that I'd used, so I might as well post them for everyone's benefit. Battlefleet Anargo; Enchanted Blue Skull White Burnished Gold Boltgun Metal Blood Red Black Ink Start with enchanted blue, wash with black ink, highlight and drybrush with enchanted blue. Paint details in skull white and burnished gold, and paint guns with boltgun metal. Add black ink to guns, and highlight with boltgun metal. Add blood red to signal lights. Frost Bringers; Codex Grey Fortress Grey Mithril Silver Black Ink Lightning Blue (and Enchanted Blue and Skull White and Blue Ink, if you want) Ship is base coated codex grey, and then given two washes of black ink, making it really dark and gloomy, like a necropolis. Drybrush codex grey and highlight with fortress grey. Paint guns mithril silver, add black ink and highlight. Signal lights can be painted a simply lightning blue, or you can use the gem-technique and use all the above-mentioned colours in paranthesis. Presto Edit; Oh, and brown ink makes the gold look a lot better. And you might want to try using black ink to black-line the white parts, and to draw a line between the gold and the white!
