Just a quick post, I was wondering what people thought of the presence of Dragon Cultists within the ASP. Whether hard-core Dragon worshippers, or just radical Tech Priests who believe that Necrons should be studied, not destroyed. I'm aware that there's a whole lot of Necron/C'Tan hatred out there ( ), and I'm not that fussed about it. I just thought I'd gather the general opinion of the forum before I put any serious thought into if they could be included.

Well, I'm up for that since it would outline another expansion to the 40k universe, which is a part of what the ASP is about. One might question the nature of that presence, i.e. whether it is an integrated part of Proteus or the 'young forgeworld', or more in the form of 'research stations'...

What about some members of the Adeptus Mechanicus who are too radical (c'tan thing) and now the Inquisition is after them because they are heretics. However the Adeptus Mechanicus is also after them, so they can get the results from the research from these radicals and give the heretics to the Inquisition so that relationships between the two organisations stay ok?

While I can certainly see AdMech personnel wishing to study Necron makeup and technology, I'm more circonspect on the whole "Dragon" aspect of it. I currently feel that the whole Dragon/AdMech relationship is something very secret and very subversive. To me, only the very top personnel of the Mars (home) branch of the AdMech would truly be aware of the connexion between the C'Tan, Necron and the Dragon. The rest of the organisation believes in the Machine God, and its (somewhat) earthly incarnation, the Emperor. The way I see it, two options could be followed for the proposed background : - Normal AdMech wishing to study alien tech. Maybe linked to a Deathwatch mission. The tech-priest may go overboard in their quest for knowledge, but since the position of the AdMech on alien tech is not really clear ("study it in order to fight it" or "destroy this heretic technology not blessed by the Machine God"), it's really up to personnal interpretation.
- Splinter AdMech sect within the organisation. Came to worship the Necron as incarnation (or "offsprings") of the Machine God after several years (decades) of contact with them. This would need more subtle diplomatic skills than the Necrons are generally given credit for, but it might be possible if the Deceiver or one of its minions was involved.
But that's just my two cents...

Welcome, Briareos. Glad that you finally made a post! AFAIK, what you have proposed is similar to the premise of the 'Dragon Cult' anyway. That is to say it is something that is highly secret and, more than likely, composed primarily of some of the more radical members of the Xenite philosophy (etc.)... oh, and maybe some of the dafter members of the puritanical philosophies. It is not, however, widely known of even amongst the upper echelons of the Martian Symposium... Kage
