Blast. Title's too long.
Anyway.
Is there any information on this sort of thing floating about?
Do the Arbites possess different units for special missions and so on? Heavy weapons? Tanks?
The way I see it, the basic Arbites grunt is the Enforcer. A straightforward police officer, really. Beyond that, you have less common heavy support teams, expert riot suppression squads, ranging up to the very hardcore armoured vehicle and urban combat units. It's stated in a number of sources that the Arbites are capable of fighting a small war if needs be.
following on...what do these guys look like? Is there an Arbitrator day uniform for those times they're not out kicking ass? I think anything like this would probably be quite formal, looking more like an army dress uniform than the usual shirts and ties of modern cops.

Some units: -I know that they have a Rhino variant...it's the same one the Sister of Battle use...Forge World sells it, I lost the name. -They also have space ships, small ones though, to take out smugglers. -Cyber mastifs (those bionic dogs) -bikes? -Heavy weapons units --> in necromunda some of them are armed with Heavy Stubbers.
I think that the arbites dont have such a thing as a "day uniform" they always wear that armoured kick ass armour when they are on duty.

They can't wear body armour all the time. When they're not actually fighting someone it isn't practical. for office work, what little of it they do, I daresay there's a duty uniform instead of the bulletproof vests.

There is only war. The Adeptus Arbites sit behind their desk in full carapace armour, with bolters and shotguns on their laps.
Either go with that, or read the Shira Calpurnia novels Crossfire and Legacy. I'm very sure they have information on uniforms and the vehicle pool of the Arbites. Unfortunately, I have access to neither of these at my school.
As for tanks... I'd say no. APCs, yes, heavy weapons, yes, but not tanks. Not like the Imperial Guard, at least. Why? Well, because it doesn't really fit the imagery set in the fluff, and there's nothing in the fluff to suggest that this is the case. They may be able to fight a small war, but by assuming that they need tanks to do so, you might as well give them bombers and artillery.

Forgeworld have a Rhino variant used by the Arbites, I think it is the Repressor?
Enforcer = Grunt Arbitrator = Sergeant? Judge = Super Intendent?
Shotguns seem the normal armament, backed up by heavy stubbers and grenade launchers. Shock squads carry Power Mauls and Supression Shields. I guess heavy riots may call for flamers, bolt weapons, missile launchers. Can't see them using much more?
Interesting point on off duty uniforms, Carapace armour ain't going to be comfy to sit in at dinner or when off-duty or at a desk! Duty uniform of leather jacket, boots and cotton or similar trouser and tunic?

I think Arbiter refers to the officer cadre of the Arbites
You can have Arbiter Generals etc.
A Judge is a seperate class all together and are those which actually have the authority to pass sentancing for major crimes.(Mind you they can still get out on the streets and kick some butt)
There are also clerical style judges which seem to do mainly clarifying and collating.

There is some updated fluff for Enforcers which was released with the newest version of Necromunda. The link above is to a PDF file with the information.
