Yep it would but you might want to hold off until we decide which symbol we're going to have as the chapter badge. And also which shade of blue is being used for them, deep blue would be a mistake, you want pale blue like snow shadow

I think we will be using a varient of that but which one is as yet undecided, and again which shade of blue are we using
EDIT now that the chapter badge dilema has been solved, has anyone thought any more on this competition thing.

So I think we have just about every thing we need for this thing don't we, apart from the painted marines or do we have them, and if I read this correctly we don't have much time.
Tynesh you started this what are your thoughts

So I think we have just about every thing we need for this thing don't we, apart from the painted marines or do we have them, and if I read this correctly we don't have much time. I've been experimenting with a couple of color schemes for the chapter livery based off CELS original concept drawing. The white on enchanted blue just looks to cheery to me though. Since the chapter's gene seed comes from the Silver Skulls, which is a progenitor of the Ultramarines, I have been experimenting with a color scheme that draws on both of these chapters. The livery will still be set up in a manner similar to CELS concept art, but the white is replaced by boltgun metal and the enchanted blue is replaced with sky blue ink. The figure starts out with a base coat of black. This is dry brushed with tin bits and then boltgun metal. The parts that will then be inked I went over with a 2 to 1 mixture tin bits and fortress grey. This creates a kind of pewter color. Going over this with watered down ink produces a light blue that has a metalic quality to it which ties it into the rest of the armor. At the moment, I only have my test miniatures. They are incomplete at the moment...the back packs are off and the gns missing since I was only testing color compatability. I'll try to finish up some display miniatures for consideration.

Well Mr Dazo, all we really need is the 3 minatures painted, and a small amount of background. We have a lot of background, but no minis.
It is important to remember that only people in the Northern Europe Region of GW can enter - so nobody from the UK or US. This is the main reason why CELS was the one painting minis.
Oh and we have until the 1st December to get the thing in!

Do we have to enter the models themselves, or just pictures? Because if we just have to e-mail the stuff to GW, then I can send them the stuff that you write. Personally, I'm starting to think that it's too late. Sikkukkut has not finished the Index Astartes article and the 'colour text', and we have yet to agree on a colour scheme. I won't get home till 17th of December, so I won't be able to help with painting. I think the competition will be fierce, so just painting 3 random Space Marines in great speed is probably just a waste of time. People will be making awesome conversions, spending hours highlighting and shading, etc. Sorry for being so negative, but... we've done too little for too long, and at this point, this seems like a waste of time...

if we can send pictures then all of us could have a go and send them to you to use / pick ??...just a thought .i thought the colour scheme was white and,sky blue'ish,as in the picture of R.T.'s space marine?

I liked the sky blue ones you did judd, but it seems even that is still undecided.
Aye CELS I think your probably right lets just concentrate on getting them done for us first, you never know at a later date we might have another chance, we don't need GW recognition, it would have been nice but its not vital to the project

You have to take the minis along to a GW store in N Europe and hand them in along with any other bits you want.
