Note to people who don't know what we're talking about (yes, it sounds a bit partonising, but there you go):
Mass, measured in kilograms, is a measure of how much stuff there is in something. It is not dependant on where you are. Weight, measured in Newtons, is how much pull is exerted on a thing by gravity. On Earth at ground level this is near as dam it 9.81 Newtons per kg.
