Right, I want to get this hammered out a bit.
My proposal:
"The Eivine Emperor himself once set foot upon the Shrineworld, at the head of his Glorious Legions he drove back the Diabolical Krinshan race to the dark hinterlands and saved the Noble Subjects of His Realm that they may serve him forevermore. The Great Saint Constantin, Guard-Captain of the Emperor's own, tought the art of the blade to the Deshmoran monks, founding the Order of Valdor."
Or, for the more factual part, the Imperial Army vanguard of the Emperor's own forces encountered the human settlers who were under constant attack by the native tribes. The natives were driven back and the locals, in co-operation with the Imperial troops, set up a command post for the re-aquisition of the rest of the sector. the Emperor himself is known to have set foot upon this planet, acompanied by the Captain-General of the Adeptus Custodes. One of the blade orders of (Dorvastor) claims to have been tutored by the master of the Custodes, Constantin Valdor, and claims to have his halberd in their reliquary. This claim is disputed by some historians, but no proof has ever been found and so the claim is allowed to stand.
Now this, of course, works on the assumption that the Emperor went through here. This would be most difficult if we were to go for the sector being claimed by one of the later-Traitor legions. However, the curse on the Cursed Sub-Sector is looking more towards being Age of the Apostasy time, and so would not cause problems.
