By Dazo Technology The technology of Seleca was fairly developed for an agri world, land cars, mass communication, a well developed transport system, atomic power generation, mass production, this was before the Leskus corporation arrived with a proposal the people of Seleca could not ignore. Within months atomic energy had been replaced by fusion power, mass production became fully automated, the production of electronics and cybernetics replaced old style heavy industry, advanced sea harvesting increased the food turnover by 300%. Space ports and orbital docks were built, Seleca began producing her own transporter ships, and once again the descendants of the old guard veterans carried brand new lasguns
Trade and tithes The main export of Seleca is a thick nutrient paste made from the algae and plankton and fish that are farmed on seleca, though marine life is the basic food stuff of seleca, grox are also farmed and add a much needed break from fish, grains and root vegetables are also farmed, not only for their nutrition value but also as alchohol can be sythesisd from them, no great surprise the colony was founded by imperial guard after all. Hard spirits and ales are not the only alcholic products many fine wine’s and liqures are also produced, these come from the fruit gardens of the outer isles and are in high demand through out the subsector Physiology The gravity of Seleca is only marginally greater than that of terra, so apart from slightly increased muscle tone the inhabitants of Seleca are not noticeably different from any other citizen of the imperium Psychology There is a saying on Seleca, “If you are going to die tomorrow then you’ve time for a few more drinks”, moderate climate, sufficient food, good health have conspired to give Selecans a very positive view on life, they enjoy getting drunk after a hard day in the field and evenings are always friendly even for off worlders. This can change in a heart beat, all Selecan adults have military training and weapons training, even children are taught basic survival skills and how to strip a lsa gun in under ten seconds. Though this is a side rarely seen unless they are prevoked
language and dialect The language of Seleca is low gothic with a slight accent, which has been described as easy on the ear . Planetary defence force The planetary defence force is the whole population, every household must own at least one gun per adult. The standard Weapon is the las gun but virtually every household still have the old auto guns they owned before the lasgun became available
Moons Seleca has one moon or rather sister world Rhian, marginally smaller than Seleca, its gravity and core density are lower with its own atmosphere and deposits of frozen water it was a world that could have been, but its atmosphere is to thin and the surface temperature to low for anything other than microbial bacteria. Its these bacteria that make the veiw of Rhian so spectacular, white ice is banded with coral pink and pastel shades of blue and green, moon rise on Seleca is sight to behold. Rhian does have another name, Hernsfall it is where the body of captain Hern is buried, a warrior mighty and noble, a legendary figure, amongst the Selecans, he died shortly before the transport ship dropped out of warp, and it was decided that the moon Rhian should be his resting place
Well thats the rest of it,is that ok or do you need more and what happened to the origional post was it my fault
56,47,52 - K-V - A989758-C Ag 710 Im 095, this star and world appears to have the same grid co-ordinates as Seleca, so do i have two agri worlds in the same system(sweeet) or is it a mistake[/i]

First, an administrative issue... Please avoid double-posting, Dazo. I've noticed that there have been a few strange things going on with the forum, but I managed to reply to this thread, so you didn't really have to start another thread just for Seleca. And for the threads that work fine, avoiding double posting should be easy. Ref: Mining world thread. Of course, I do realize there's a size limit in each post, but this is just a friendly reminder. Now, on to what you've written. [/li][li] I would appreciate it if you would stick to the Standard Representation as explained here. The planet description shouldn't really include too much history. That should be in the history section [/li][li]Under Government, you briefly discuss government, religion and law. It would be better to do these under Government, Religion and Society and Law, I think, and then get into more detail about each of them [/li][li]Paradise... almost no crime, no poverty, high educational standards and high health care. Though worlds like these are rare, there are examples of such paradise-like worlds within the Imperium. Ultramar has a few, IIRC. What seems rather strange to me though, is that private corporations seem to have great power on this world. The government was set up by a corporation! Considering this, it seems kind of strange to me that this world is what it is. On earth, whenever private companies are given more power, it usually leads to greater differences in income and wealth. Not social equality. Or at least, that's what I gather from the whole capitalism vs communism debate. [/li][li]What is the origin of the Leskus corporation? I think you should write more about it, and what it's role is on Seleca today. [/li][li]Perhaps you could invent new types of meat from Seleca? There's already a lot of grox in the sector. Birds or mammals or something? Just to add to the variety.. [/li][li]Great stuff on the moon, Rian! Really liked that! [/li][li]The PDF description needs some work, in my opinion. It sounds like every household is just required to get their own weapons, and that's that. Is there no standing army on the world? No support structure for this defence force? Do everyone just grab their rifles in the case of an invasion, and disappear into the forests? What about orbital defences, planetary macro cannons, missile silos, an air force, warmachines? None of that? Are women part of the PDF? How does one become an officer? How well trained and equipped are the soldiers? Don't they have armour and other equipment as well? [/li][li]Finally... put this in a Word document, and run spell-check, please "Emporer, breif existence, cilvil service, retirering guard regiment"... grammar, sentence structure... it needs a bit of work! And there are not two mainworlds in the same system, so the coordinates must be wrong. Keep the ones you've been using for Seleca and ignore the other ones.

Done Ok i modified the first part let me know if your still not happy with it, but, the second part is posted in your name so i cant modify it there, i will do a revised copy including the history of the world and post it seperatly, i will leave it up to you, if you wish to copy it, post it in your post then delete my post....mmm...not making much sense there. We can sort that out when i do it Sorry i should have spaced them out better they were all supposed to be seperate Yes they are required to have and maintain a weapon though not to buy their own unless they want somthing thats not standard issue Yes and no in theory the whole adult population is the army, but its not a standing army its more of a TA Yes, if its a sudden invasion by unknown superior forces then the standing order is to withdraw and employ hit and run tactics until such time as an effective counter strike can be made You get nominated by a superior officer if they think you have what it takes

Yes they are required to have and maintain a weapon though not to buy their own unless they want somthing thats not standard issue You can't just hand every other person a gun and expect them to function as a single force. If an ork army lands on this planet, you'll need an airforce, a cavalry, you'll need logistics, engineers, a medical corps, a command structure! These things need to be ready and organised before an attack comes. The way you describe this PDF, it's just a bunch of gung-ho guerilla soldiers with lasguns. They wouldn't last a week against an ork invasion, with artillery, fighter-bombers, and so on. Actually, they wouldn't even function as a guerilla force! TA? Well, the Imperium demands a standing army. All Imperial Commanders must organise a standing army for their world, or they lose the planet. How can you make an effective counter strike when you have no structure, no organisation? I'm sorry, but this is totally, totally unrealistic. What superior officers? How do they evaluate the people, when they're not a part of a standing army, but just farmers? It doesn't seem like you've thought this through... 20 battle-tanks to defend the capital, is a drop in the ocean. The enemy will be attacking with entire regiments of tanks! Regiments! And this capital is defended by a couple of companies? Oh, and though the spelling and grammar is better, it's still not great, in my humble opinion. I'm pretty sure 'Phisiology' is not a word, and the sentence structure of the first sentence is... odd. Sorry for the nit-picking...

:)It begins...muscles expanding, clothes ripping...skin turning green arrgh CELS I had wanted it to be a bit different from the usual milatary forces of the imperium now i see the error of my ways, so gun emplacements around every city anti aircraft weapons enough aircraft to blot out the sun each man as well trained as rambo and so many orbital batteries not even god himself could get through, i'll give you a standing army so awesome you'll wet yourself ;D Ok i'll think on those ideas and amend my description, but any suggestions you might have would be appreciated as i have no real knoledge of milatary organisations and i tend to struggle a bit with this sort of thing

The second choice is I guess better because it does not bring a question why they haven’t shifted to industry from agriculture. And I also guess they got all the advances too fast on Imperium usual time-frame where things are negotiated for generations sometimes. On lasgun to every adult on the world that hasn’t fought enemy for generations – I don’t buy it. And too much alcohol with extremely health and sharp shooting army… uh, I always said, alcohol is very dangerous… use cocaine instead.

Please also note that the TTL of the planet is far too high, at TTL C. This is adeptus mechanicus level of technology as mentioned elsewhere.
Anargo has, at the moment, a just sub-maximum level of tech for non-adeptus mechanicus world at TTL A!
As to their 'technology', with a population of around 700,000 the chances are that the majority of it is imported... And is that enough to run an agriworld, out of interest?

When was the last time america was invaded by land, yet its in their constitution that every able bodied person should bear arms i believe, don't quote me on that though. these are descended from imperial guard veterans that was the first law laid down by them, that everyone be able to defend themselves. Besides i don't want a bunch of useless sheep on my world where if it gets invaded they sit back and hope someone comes to rescue them, they should be able to react themselves and make an enemy pay in blood if they try to take their world, Be prepared is a good motto especially in the imperium. I understand what you are saying zholud, but i can't in good concience accept the "well it'll never happen to us" mentality, its just wrong wrong wrong. But if you want i'll only give lasguns to the PDF and alter the fluff a little for you I did but i don't relish the 50/50 chance of having a heart attack so i kill myself slowly with alchohol the cause of, and solution to, all of lifes problems Well thats how i found it i haven't fiddled the figures, but they are affiliated with a major corporation, perhaps thats why its high or maybe the mechanicus has a presence in the system, given my hatred of them i would have a hard time with that Yep zholud i like the second option as well

Thats no problem Kage, but do you mean alter the uwp or explain why its so high if its the former no probs, tell me what you think it should be, if its the latter Help because i'm all outta idea's, and by the way what does tl=c mean to you

As I mentioned before, it is not possible for a world other than a forgeworld to have a TTL of C (GTL10). Anargo currently has a TTL of A, slightly lower than the 'maximum' of TTL B. Perhaps you could look at your world and not select just the highest tech that you can get away with when you reduce it?

Ok i've reduced it to a uwp of 9, which is early fusion power i believe. i've already stated above that they have fusion power so it seems like a reasonable number to choose. They were'nt a bunch of hill billies when they arrived on the world in the first place and the idea of them having a significantly lower tech level, after all they would know what was available in terms of technology, is just to unrealistic for me even after many cans of lager, which would also explain this untructured rant. Wait i'll lower it to 8 instead, pre stallar but still advanced enough fo my concept
You also expressed your concern over population not being high enough i think, well i've increased it to about a million but to be honest it still seems rather a small figure for such a large planet would you like to see the population number increased I was thinking say 3 million?

- beaurocratic -> bureaucratic - "Why would the Selecans allow this, when the Edom Res guild attacked, all the administratum staff had remained in the cities, they were all killed before Kage Hernson led his counter strike, the Leskus corp. offered to replace them with administratum staff in their “employ” so to speak, meaning while productivity would increase on Seleca the Imperium would only get what the selecans wanted them to, though to mitigate suspicion the tithes are voluntarily raised every now and then, the rest being sold to the corporation and personal fortunes accrued. With the change came change in government, the prime minister who is elected by the people has the mandate to lead and change domestic and trade policies, along with a minister for war, for trade and internal affairs who help manage the running of the planet, beaurocracy is still a major factor but it is no longer allowed to dictate policy as it once had." You might want to consider the sentence structure here. It's very verbal, and some of these sentences should be divided into two or three or restructured all-together, in my opinion. And this goes for several other sentences in this SR too, so I urge you to look at the entire article. - Emperor with capital E, please - Could insects taste of chicken? Don't they have a whole other body structure? I have no idea, but they just don't seem to have any meat.. Then again, they must have muscles... help please. - Why are fish, algae and plankton ground into a thick nutrient paste? Must taste really awful. Why not just dry and/or smoke the fish? That way, it can last almost indefinitely. - Isn't it a bit dramatic to say that the whole population is the PDF? Are 90-year olds and 5-year olds expected to grab their autoguns and charge the enemy? You could say the entire adult population, but then wouldn't the society collapse if there was a war? Suddenly, no one was producing food, operating power plants, not even making ammunition for the war. They were all in the trenches. Even Cadia has a few percent which are not soldiers. - I thought we agreed that the Leskus pattern lasgun would be a good weapon for elites and storm troopers, but it's still the standard weapon for the Seleca III population. - You don't have to give the specific number of tanks on Seleca. In fact, it would be preferable if you didn't, at this point. Besides, the numbers you have given are kind of strange. - I still don't think the Leman Russ, Chimera, Vulture or Valkyries should appear in a PDF force. - Imperial Navy ships are not used as permanent system defences, except for the Monitor ships. That means, no Cobras, no Swords, no Firestorms, no Dauntless class light cruisers. Imperial systems are defended by so-called system ships, which are armed ships, not capable of warp-travel, provided by the local Imperial Commander himself (either through import or production on the planet itself). - Phisiology is still not a word - Nice map

beaurocracy, did i spell that right No problem I'm not sure what you mean by verbal, do you mean i'm writing it as if i was speaking it Insects are a pulpy mass of protien inside a hard exo skeleton, they do have muscles, but it would be the pulp that would be used, which would vary in consistency, and come on everything tastes like chicken thats not a cow or a pig Mmmm smoked fish i never thought of that, and the nutrient paste would be a slightly salty base ingredient of cheap processed food that i can imagine poor hive worlders eating, like food cubes or army rations. I'll have a think on this and add it to the SR Ok. they are perhaps whats left of the mechanised support of the origional guard settlers if thats not a good enough reason for you i could give them more stuff that they built themselves, god that was a bad attempt at a description, arrg i'm losing my perspicacity Well...mmm...er oh i don't know. Well everyone keeps telling me to scale down my PDF, and the planets not densly populated so I figure a) they can afford to give them to their PDF or b) they were a gift from the U.T.C (the corporation formerly known as Leskus) or c) i'll change it to modified autoguns, as i have a sneaking suspicion you are not going to let this go Would the Triplex pattern be more to your liking Well I copied it straight from the guide so i wash my hands of all responsibility Thanks, at least i managed to get one thing right
